Needs to be QB1 going forward. Love Stetson and his story, but we need more if we are going to hit that next gear and win round 2 against Bama.

Definitely agree Stetson is short and has no elite talent except for missing wide open players

I’m going to give you a spoiler alert and tell you you’ve assumed wrong.

We don't see what the coaches see. Is JT ready to play? If so, let's see what he can do for us, but if he can't beat Bennett then it won't matter what round 2 looks like because we might not make it there if we play someone who isn't ready to lead the offense.

It sucks that our offense and defense can't seem to get good at the same time.

How do we even know if this dude is any good?

Because he was a 5* recruit and started as a freshman at USC? Demetris Robertson was a freshman AA at Cal and he’s been a disappointment here.

I'm sick of hearing about JT. Why hasn't he taken a single snap yet? JT must be 80%. I really don't think we have any other answers at QB.

We don’t, but we can’t win big with the current situation. Time to take a chance, just like it was in Baton Rouge in 2018.

Whether JT is your longterm starter or not, we need to see what we've got. The coaches need to see what we've got. As it stands, this team simply CANNOT win a championship with Stetson Bennett IV at QB. If Daniels is worse, fine, it is what it is. But to stick with guy who you know, without a doubt, isn't THE guy while leaving someone a 6'6" 5* QB on the bench is inexcusable.

This is eerily similar to the Fromm-Fields situation.

I would rather put Beck out there and just take the lumps if we are going to make a QB change. JT is just a slightly more athletic Jake Fromm who is much more likely to throw the ball into trouble.

Exactly. We know what we have as-is. It won’t win us the SEC title let alone a national title. Might as well try Daniels, or shite even Mathis again, because the status quo isn’t going to get us where we want to go.

Fine, but UGA has to try something. Sticking with the status quo is essentially conceding any shot at winning anything significant.

I think Beck is a winner...and I think we are playing Bennett because he has the most experience and Kirby has been trying not to waste a championship caliber D by trotting a TrFr out there as an unknown.

At least he would be able to get the ball past the defensive line without it being swatted to the ground.

He’s wasting it by playing an undertalented feel-good story at the moment.

Georgia lost pretty horrifically to Auburn in 2017 then mauled them in the SEC game with the same players. It's not that cut and dry.

Alabama eliminated the short passing game by raising their arms. I think it’s fair to state that that is a likely championship-killing problem.

Why didn’t we play fields over Fromm?

Bc fromm had a hot hand. The coaches aren’t going to go Saban all of the sudden and go with a different angle. Bennett hadn’t lost us a game until now, and the interceptions and 3 and outs directly affected the fatigue of our defense. Unless daniels is absolute dog shite, which I really don’t think he is, he should get a few snaps. Just my opinion.

Pretty much what mmmmmmbeer said

Stetson was dogshit tonight. 42% passing, 2 TDs vs 3 INTs. He's generously 5-10 and those skinny arms aren't helping him either. We've gone as far as we can with him; he isn't going to become something more than he is.

The reality is that we got Newman and Daniels because Fromm decided to leave. There was a reason Kirby didn't turn to Bennett. Then Newman bolted and Daniels wasn't ready due to his knee. Stetson never belonged to be starting for a top five team.

Whether Daniels will be ready I don't know. But I do know that Stetson Bennett is not the caliber of quarterback that UGA needs.

I don’t even think Bennett played necessarily “bad”. He made a few bone headed moves at bad times but the truth is he did what he could with what he has. He’s a great 3* short qb. We can’t expect too much more than that.
