So if I’m one of those QBs, I’m gonna transfer to UGA to compete with Fromm to make him step his game up? I’d be looking for somewhere with a known immediate need for a QB

They wouldn't come unless the coaches said they could compete for the job. I didn't think I needed to explicitly state that. And having a chance to play on a team that is a legitimate contender every year is very attractive to most players.

This is more for a dual role beside Fromm to replace what Mathis was suppose to do.
Would be hell of a coup for Coley to get one of these QBs to come in for that role.

this brings up an intersting point I hadn't thought of before. Kirby offered jake while he was still at bama, he'd obviously been on him for a while. When he got hired here Jake was his first call. I wonder if kirby feels some kind of obligation to jake, or hell maybe even the fromm family, to ride it out with jake come hell or high water.

I’m sure Kirby feels a great deal of loyalty to Jake and the Fromm family. They believed in his vision early and made the jump. Fromm was a huge part of the success in 2017.
But make no mistake, the reason why Fromm is completely untouchable and will never be pulled for any reason other than injury is because Kirby chose Fromm over Fields. If at any point Kirby were to bench Fromm, then he is admitting that he made a colossal mistake in that choice, and that type of thing would be hard to come back from.

You guys sure are reading a lot of drama into this shite. Kirby had an “emotional attachment” to Fromm because he was our best QB this year.
You’re all assuming he’s “untouchable”. CKS chose Fromm over Fields because Fromm was better. Fields may have gotten better if he’d have made him starter for the 2018 season and gave him all the reps ....but that’s never happened short of an injury in the history of football to a young, proven starter.
The whole thing was shitty timing and Fields didn’t want to wait (which is understandable).

Kirby didnt even give Fields a chance to prove he was better ON THE FIELD. Thats all the evidence we need to make the point.
