This is part of the 247 write up on his game:

“Dobbins appeared to catch a short pass for a touchdown early in the second quarter, but it was overturned by replay as the ball came out as he crashed to the ground. Dobbins also dropped a screen pass in the red zone late in the first half. That play would have given OSU at least a first down and possibly a touchdown.”

So we can call it “possibly” 2 dropped tds passes just to make you happy.

He very likely should have had 2 more. Imagine these pussies defending a guy that threw 4 INTs in a game. That would have been fun

This entire post is BS. The ball hit him in his hands. Hold on to the damn ball instead of dropping it when you hit the ground. That dropped pass was all on Dobbins. Catch the damn ball and you win.

I know you're trying to push this BS narrative that Fromm is better than Fields, with no success at all, but stop spouting BS.

So, are you saying Dobbins dropped 2 TD passes?

Possibly is the word. I personally think he gets a td on that screen.

Well shite, then UGA receivers possibly should have caught like 50 more TDs and not ran wrong routes and bounced balls off their chests that resulted in INTs... based on this new way of judging Qbs, Fromm had a 78% completion percentage this season with 1 int and 70 TDs.

In Peters mind Fromm has never once made a mistake. Everything was the fault of the receivers including this one.

How dare that shitty receiver make Fromm throw a terrible pick 6 off his back foot

I'm not going to get in the middle of this fight you guys are in.

But I played WR and I will tell you this right off the bat. The WR jumped up for the ball when he should have gone back for the ball. You don't jump up and wait on the ball to come to you, because what happened in your gif is what will happen.

That said, it was not a good throw, either....or I should say a smart throw. But, if the receiver had played the ball properly it would have gone as an incompletion at worse.

I played the ball like that once and got my rear end chewed for jumping up and waiting on the ball to come to me. It would have been a nice catch, but the exact thing in your gif happened to me. Receivers should go back to the ball, not jump and wait.

All this crap is exactly that. Crap. Fromm had an off year. Why? Because of poor play calling, inexperienced WRs, poor route running, poor decision making on his part....a lot of things. Some of his own making, some that was not the fault of his own. People that want to paint Fromm has a bad QB are wrong, and I would say you really don't understand the QB position as it relates to the WR position.

Anybody that wants to say Fromm is a more physically gifted QB than Fields is wrong...but by the same token anybody that wants to say Fields is a more gifted from the mental aspect is wrong.

I have actually given accurate criticism of Fromm and the team in general. It just gets lost in the trolls and Fields Felators. This is a prime example of a troll making excuses for Fields while not giving the same latitude for Fromm or any other player for that matter if it doesn’t fit their troll narrative. Again, I can’t imagine someone relishing in any poor play by UGA. It’s like you are excited about it. Very odd.

You have never seen me troll if what peter has done since a couple nights ago is where the bar is set to be considered a troll.

No one around here has said he was bad. He is in fact well above average he just isn’t elite and was way overhyped coming into this year.

I Just get tired of the folks around here who possess an inability to objectively analyze him and realize there are faults in his game.

Also the Fields/Fromm comparison is always going to be a thing and that same group is incapable of being objective. Even you it appears...for example you say Fromm is more gifted mentally however results this year don’t support that when he was the one who made more mental mistakes.

This is your edit and it is still difficult to read.

You troll by repeating the same points over and over despite being informed of facts or alternative perspectives.

Having a differing view is great for the board. Being unable to hold your own in a conversation because you resort to the same overplayed talking points (many which are false) is trollish.

I'm not comparing you to peter. I'm just addressing you (I hardly read who I am replying to most of the time while on mobile. But your schtick is repeated so much that it is unmistakable who is posting drivel).

On the contrary at least one, and probably more have painted Fromm as bad.

I think most people recognize his faults. Some just get tired of the incessant criticism while saying Georgia should have kept Fields and cut Fromm loose. After awhile it gets old. I know I am tired of it.
But for people to continually criticize Fromm while defending Fields is laughable. The posters I am talking about go on constant attack and cannot say anything good about Fromm, and can't bring themselves to admit that fields makes many of the same mistakes Fromm make.

Take the gif that was in question and still in a post. One of Fields INTs Saturday was almost a carbon copy of it. yet it is shown as proof that fromm is bad, and Fields is given a pass.

Really? I am guessing you watched all of Ohio States football games? How do you know how many mental errors were Fromm's and how many were caused by plays or WR inexperience? For instance...try going back and watching Fields first INT in their game and see if it looks familiar.

Rather than attack one another, let’s discuss this calmly. The first one he dropped was in the 2nd quarter, and makes it a 20-0 game.

Dobbins drop.

The second one was in the end zone. It hit him in his hands and he caught it, but lost control when he hit the ground.

Catch those two and OSU not only wins, but Fields throws for nearly 350 yards and 3 TDs against a top defense. That is what I’m saying.

Yes really. You provided evidence that yes they *both* make mental mistakes yet you claimed Fromm was “more gifted mentally”. I don’t see it based on results this year

It certainly isn’t some great equalizer that Fromm has that puts him on the level of the handful of elite QBs this year.

You couldn’t hold your own in our most recent discussion, so odd point to make.

When I post, I stick to the facts or logic of the subject matter. It’s not trolling to repeat valid points, and it’s damn sure not evidence of being unable to “hold my own”.

Most importantly, I don’t resort to nonsensical things and trash talk in an effort to get a rise out of other posters like real trolls do.

Ha! Are you under the impression that QBs that are mentally superior never make mistakes? I never said he was perfect. I said he was mentally superior to Fields. there is a difference.

Fields had a ton of advantages over Fromm this past year. Experienced WRs, OC to name a couple. but those make a lot of difference.

Fields was bailed out by circus catches during their game with Clemson. Catches Fromm's WRs probably would not make. Never underestimate the difference a veteran WR corps makes to a QB.

I never said Fromm was an elite QB. I will say he is much better than some of you are painting, though.

Read your sentence again:

quote:

You provided evidence that yes they *both* make mental mistakes yet you claimed Fromm was “more gifted mentally”.

You can't fathom a QB who is more mentally gifted making any mistakes at all?

Let me put it this way....Fromm, while while more gifted mentally at this stage of their careers will still make mental errors.

Fields, while more gifted physically, will still make physical errors, too. He will underthrow receivers, overthrow receivers, throw to the wrong shoulder or not put the ball exactly where it should be placed. That doesn't make him any less gifted, though. Either one of them, for that matter.

You still deny that Fields got lots of playing time. Playing time in crucial moments of crucial games.

He did this despite not showing anything explosive in his many reps. He wasnt bad. He protected the football. But he never showed anything in his reps to merit less snaps for Fromm.
