I don't know who this guy is....but his post said something about Mays having no choice about leaving Georgia?
1. Who is Jay Bilas?
2. How did Mays not have a choice?

Bilas is a basketball analyst for Espn

Basketball analyst probably needs to stick to basketball.
He also says something about "everything we are going through right now" ....that has nothing to do with why he transferred. They guy tries to make a case, but I sure wouldn't want him speaking on my behalf.

That kind of sums up our basketball program

Agreed on the choice.
The choice was to finish year 3 at UGa or transfer and sit 1 year at tennessee. Mays chose to transfer and sit.
Ask Jay bilas how often a Duke player transfers to UNC and plays right away. Because that is what he is supporting right now.

He's also a lawyer and a pretty damn good legal mind, so I'd pay attention to what he says. He's had some really good insights and loves going after the NCAA and their asinine decision making process. That said, he's dead wrong in this instance.
As someone who attended UNC, damn it pains me to say something nice about a Dookie...

Bilas' tweet
Do you think he meant "black guy" instead of "QB"?

Good grief. With all we’re going through, Cade Mays has his transfer waiver denied? The NCAA has a chance to right this wrong on appeal, and should. Mays didn’t have a choice but to leave Georgia, and the NCAA knows it. Too bad Mays isn’t a QB...he’d be eligible immediately.

He enjoys shitting on the NCAA any chance he gets.

except when he collects a check for providing color analysis for their games.

Yep. He's a big player first guy. And I'm fine with that. He just didn't need to say Mays had no other choice, when he absolutely could have stayed at Georgia and been fine.

Yeah, I am not a basketball fan at all. Mainly because I could never, shoot, dribble play defense or get rebounds.....sooooooo.....
I have been wanting to start watching Georgia basketball and had started watching Georgia baseball before they shut it down. Just my luck. Day late and a dollar short.

Why? I mean, being a lawyer certainly makes him smarter than me, but it doesn't mean he should be commenting on football.

But, to your point.....I wouldn't listen to my wife when she talks about football either, and she is smarter than me, too. But, then most people are smarter than me, so.....maybe I should listen to her?

My daughter almost applied to UNC. (And Duke) Good school. She was offered some scholarships to Georgia though, and then they offered her immediate entrance in their Honors Program, so that was that. But yeah. UNC is a very good school, so good for you.

I meant more along the lines of paying attention to when he talks about the NCAA, its decisions and the process it uses to make those decisions. He seems to really understand them and how asinine their thought process seems to be.
He's dead wrong about Mays in that he didn't look at all the relevant facts in his case and compared him to players that had different scenarios. The NCAA, rightly or wrongly, has been pretty consistent in denying in-conference, non-graduate transfers applying for hardship waivers. None of the players Bilas mentioned (the QBs) fit in that specific category.

Oh. I don't need him to tell me about those. I think we all see that......even me, and I have already admitted I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Not really since he cant seem to understand that Mays is an undergrad attempting to transfer within his same division. This is Brenton Cox 2.0
It isnt rocket science. Is isnt constitutional law. This is basic ncaa/sec SOP.
