Any player flipping to Vandy over Georgia is getting some bad advice. This year is an outlier for Vandy and he will learn that the hard way. SEC defenses ain't lower class high-school.

Same guy was our highest drafted quarterback in almost 20 years.

Vanderbilt has a pretty solid sales pitch, though.

We turned Diego frigging Pavia into a Heisman finalist. Imagine what we could do with you.

I like QBs like Stetson and Gunner who want to play for UGA.

If he wants early playing time, best we find out now because that ain't very likely at Georgia. Our offense is complicated and a freshman starter means rebuilding year. Anyway, if he'll dump on Georgia now, that means he'd do the same thing later. Saved us wasted time and money.

Why do we always seem to have the ship jumping quarterbacks that wait till the last second? Is any other school having these issues?

Yep, and though it may piss some off, you could throw Carson Beck in that group too. Beck waited 4 years to finally get his shot as a starter, because he wanted to play quarterback for Georgia. He left in the end, but he wasn't feeling very welcome at that point.

I don't care if you're a 6-star generational talent, I want our players to be DAWGS

Recruiting has always been a dirty business, even moreso now. Part of Kirby's challenge is figuring out which recruits are trustworthy.

Time to sign a portal quarterback with multiple years of eligibility, unless you're sold that Puglisi is the answer based on throwing passes against a Marshall defense that was ready to quit and go get a shower and a snack.

I don't really understand this part. Those few minutes against Marshall are not the deciding factor. The fans know almost zilch about Puglisi. Kirby and Bobo know a good bit about Puglisi and it's not based on "throwing passes against a Marshall defense that was ready to quit and go get a shower and a snack." If they're sold on Puglisi, it's because of everything they've seen during his time at UGA.

So, I'd say it's "time to sign a portal QB if Kirby and Bobo decide we need one". If any of the current ones are leaving, and we don't have a reliable walk-on or two, then my guess is they'll try just based on numbers.

You would have to be a special kind of stupid to Sign with Vandy. Their best season in close to a 100 years and they don't even make the playoffs, there are literally nicer stadiums in Texas HS football than Vandy, you will be relegated to being surrounded by shite players as Vandy returns to the mean.

The fact it is even a competition is ungodly stupid, a rebuilding year at UGA is literally better than the best Vandy season they can hope for.

I loved the look on Arch"s face when it sank in that UGA was going to spank that arse again.

these guys troll themselves and have 4 years to think about it.

There is plenty of opportunities for him to run packages next season to play.

Don't assume that we have good info about how recruitments play out. There are zero rules now. There could be billionaires out there paying players to NOT go somewhere. There may be high profile influencers out there convincing players to NOT go somewhere. You may think that's farfetched, and maybe it is, but my point is that I can't find any enforceable rule that makes any kind of inducement or interference impossible or illegal.

This game, for now and the foreseeable future, is no holds barred. Georgia can't outbid the field just because we really want or need a player. Everybody has a price and in the end, the money guys decide the outcomes.

Two hints: (1) if the guy has already committed to, and decommitted from, multiple schools, he may not be overly reliable; (2) he has committed to and decommitted from UGA already, and then recommitted, he may not be overly reliable.

The real money is a First round NFL #1 overall, this kid could do it but not at Vandy.

Don't be stupid. The flake celebs will be on to the next thing and the kid will be stock in the cellar.

I think the talent at RB overall across college football has dropped off over the last few years. This is a direct result of RBs struggling to get paid in the NFL. Elite athletes are switching positions if they can.

It makes sense. It's like a lot running backs these days are running back because they are either too short to play DB or too stiff to play DB.

The real money is in the second NFL contract, but I'll do this anyways.

Trey Lance went #3 overall out of North Dakota State. Carson Wentz went #2 overall, also out of North Dakota State. Josh Allen was taken #7 overall out of Wyoming. Jay Cutler went in the first round out of Vanderbilt. If you have talent, the NFL will find you, especially at QB.

My guess would be Vandy is offering him a ton of money and promised him the starting job next season.

You're making assumptions again. There's no rule he has stay at Vandy. Somebody could pay him $5 million to spend one year at Vandy, or anywhere else, no strings attached. Cost effective? No, but this is a game of power and no rules. After decades of financial market manipulation, especially in concert with debt monetization, there are people with enough wealth to run this sport like a jai lai match.
