Stokes, Campbell, Daniel all expected to leave.

De’Jahn Warren flips

That leaves:

Ringo
Kimber
Lassiter
Bullard
Ameer Speed

So we have 5 guys who have never taken a significant snap in their life, and we are gonna have to play at least 3 of them next year? Yikes.

Nyland Green as well. And can't Stevenson play CB?

You left out Nyland Green. But yeah the lack of experience will hurt.

My hope is we can retain one of the guys you listed. Or we get an experienced trasnfer. I trust Kirby will figure it out.

Stevenson

Really good player, but not exactly a cover corner.

Maybe we're going more agressive with the pass rush next season. Could be necessary.

I think Speed has been getting a significant amount of playing time this year, albeit mostly garbage time.

I don't think we're fricked but we're thin. Hoping Kimber and Ringo live up to the hype and that we hit the portal hard. What transfer wouldn't want to come to UGA after watching their top 3 corners get drafted.

I'd consider Tyreke more of a safety in the box type. He would do well in Cine's role. The huge hole will be Lecounte's spot.

A playmaking FS just transforms a defense. With Mondon and Sorey locked in, the best bet to help the corners is a steady pass rush.

Let's say every corner that can leave enters the draft.

Who plays in the secondary?

Ringo and Kimber? Green? Speed? Kimber?

Say Cine moves to free and Tyreke goes to strong. Who plays Star?

Definite step back and it's going the be the thinnest it's been in several years, but I feel pretty good about Kirby & Co. coaching up the players we have to at least give us bearable play.

Fricked would be the situation we had in the defensive backfield in 2013 with Todd Grantham to coach them up.

At least we'll have an offense that can keep up.

I have a feeling one of them returns.

Also, by not getting Smith or Edwards, we'll be actively looking for a CB in the portal.

Physically? Ok sure. Yeah, I mean skills wise.

I’d venture to say he has as many PI calls over the course of his career as he does pass breakup. Somebody look that up.

Aint looking great. Don't know about the other signees but I do know that Bullard never played corner in high school. The only corner we signed in 2019 was Tyrique Stevenson. The good news is that Kirby knows how to coach up DBs and he learned from the master.
