He had the chance to beat Bama. We were up in the score and our offense sucked with the QB. Our D did the best they could but you can only keep the D on the field for so long before they get tired. We need another QB that can keep our Offense on the field for a longer period of time.

Everyone who was holding on to "Rudy" fantasies about Bennett can let those go now. Unless Daniels is truly ready to go this year, we are only going to go so far this season. Beyond that, it needs to be about getting Daniels into the groove, probably Beck too. Then let the best one win the job for 2021.
I'm not even thinking of Mathis. Hard to see him winding up a long term solution for UGA based on what we've seen. Daniels, Beck, and Vandagriff are the future.

Those QBs coming in will be mismanaged and will underperform. We will continue to tun the ball and play defense and win 10-11 games a year and the SEC CG is as close to a natty as we get until the game is normalized and defenses are once again meaningful.

I don’t care what you think of me. I’m usually not hostile on a sports message board, but have some fricking context, girl.
Yeah, it’s a loss. It sucks. I absolutely HATE losing to Alabama. But the season is not over. Maybe it’s not totally realistic but our goals are still attainable.
Remember when we lost by 23 points to Auburn and still ended up making the playoffs with a freshman Fromm behind center? It isn’t totally impossible, so I don’t see why you’re throwing the towel on the guy who has the program in contention every year.

I think Kirby is well aware of this. Losing Fields really set us back. He did what he could with newman and Daniels as stopgaps, it just ain’t worked out.
Not sure what Beck or Mathis' potential is, but I have a feeling we are in a holding Pattern until Vandagriff gets here.

I remember that and when Alabama won the natty that year. We ain’t winning the SEC let alone a natty with a walk on QB in this day and age where all that matters in CFB is a QB.
Smart is, unfortunately, on the descent. He has proven unable to develop a QB. QB is the only position on the field that matters today. There is no better coach for UGA but Smart ain’t winning a natty at UGA. Lack of QB play from day one and it is only getting worse and not better.
