Ahhhhhh man it's crazy how many stupid ignorant people are on here to the X's and Os of football! Fooman I don't know how you can handle these football knowledge tards.
Who cares about context? Who cares about the totality of an offensive unit? Who cares about coaching, scheming, route running, leverage and body placement, and catching? Who cares about anything other than Fromm isn't perfect and we somehow made a mistake by forcing Fields off the team even though we had no say in that? Nothing matters except JFB, and if you point out anything to the contrary, you're a disney dawg who engages in fellatio with Jake Fromm.
It's an indictment on our culture that doesn't value critical thinking.

Shitting on an entire team - especially the young kids who we all expected to need help (and who have worked hard and to make real progress this season) just to defend bad performances by your favorite player is not being objective or fair.

saw all I needed to re. Fields and his ability to read a defense when he was called into the Auburn game last year, third qtr. inside the red zone, UGA up like 24-10.
The very thing you referenced happened. His options weren't open, he panicked and got happy feet, and he got his arse ate up and lost 20-plus yards.
You mean a seldom used true freshman wasn’t amazing at reading a defense? I wonder if that kind of thing could be improved upon with PT. Improving with live reps, What a wild concept that would be.

Coming from the guy who struggles with the simple concept of his most favorite qb ever missing too many open guys downfield, this is rich.

The only person who doesn't value critical thinking is you apparently. No one has anything against Fromm nor do we expect him to be perfect. He is a game manger QB, or at least he's supposed to be. Fromm has been carried by Deandre Swift and the defense. If you don't believe me look at his stats.

So...we ARE sceming our WR open?
I am confused. Are we scheming our WRs open or should we be scheming them open? because it sounds like y'all are saying both?
I meam, all we have to do is figure out which coverage the defense will be in, then decide if they are in zone or man-to-man....then call the perfect play and hope the defense does not adjust. Scheme. Simple. I wonder why we don't do that more often? I mean...why don't all the teams just scheme their wrs open?
Out of curiosity...what exactly does scheming a wr open entail?

Holy shite you're dumb. Watching Fromm badly overthrow TD passes with my own two eyes is totally different than leftists making shite up to try and justify hating Trump.

I and others have said it time and time again: we lost our entire functional receiving corp from last season. We're essentially in an offensive rebuilding year. I'm not saying our receivers aren't naturally gifted or talented. I'm saying they're mostly young and raw and it doesn't appear that they are getting the best coaching to make drastic improvements over the course of this season.
They will likely grow a lot over the off-season, but right now, they are not playing to the same level as our more experienced guys were last year, nor should we expect them to be able to pick up where the others left off. That isn't defecating on them; that's pointing out a natural fact of football, that a core group of young and inexperienced players at any position group is usually going to be a liability for a team unless they can develop and get refined as the season progresses.
Our passing offense is visibly worse than the last two seasons and the natural response of many here is that the blame lies with our experienced QB rather than with our inexperienced receivers (or our OC). Many believed we would struggle passing this season before the first game due to the turnover in our receivers, yet that seems to have been forgotten. Fromm makes his own mistakes but those wouldn't stand out so much if the rest of our offense were more productive, and that goes well beyond the QB.

If only it were as simple as scheming...what is scheming?
People that want to say, "We should just be scheming our WRs open!" have no idea what they are saying. Can you call a series of plays that set a certain play up? Yeah....sometimes. Does it ever work? Yeah. Sometimes. Maybe.
But for people to criticize our coaches by saying they should be scheming our WRs open?
They've been listening too much to sports commentators if they think "all we have to do it scheme our wrs open."

How exactly does it work both ways? Who is going out on a limb to defend George Pickens and Dom Blaylock?
Who is blaming Coley for Matt Landers awful play?

So we need a perfect storm receiving corp of highly experienced and talented WRs for our 3-year starter QB to be productive?
That seems unreasonable, tbh. There aren’t 10 QBs nationally in a more advantageous situation than Jake Fromm when you look at UGA’s OL, tailback, and raw talent out wide.

Is this an actual question?
It's what Kyle Shanahan does every week to have wide open receivers on almost every play, and that's in the NFL where it's much harder to do. It's using route combinations and misdirection to fool defensive backs and get a WR to pop open (see: Cager TD vs UF). It's using a defense's aggressiveness against them (flea flicker to Pickens last week).

I will. They are doing as well as could reasonably be expected.

No one. Landers just doesn’t have natural ball skills imo.
I blame Coley and others for him playing at all.

It’s not easy to do against a good defense. When we do so, everyone needs to execute, especially the qb when the OL blocks and WR is open.

quote:There's no struggle. He has missed several throws, but that is a minor issue compared to the overall dysfunction in our offense, which you and others like you fail to see. This gets back to the critical thinking I was mentioning. You'd rather pin the entirety of our offensive woes on the QB than realize that he's only as effective as his supporting cast. Ironically, you condemn me for being too biased towards Fromm when I'm looking at the entire offense while you are focused entirely on Fromm.

I just said they did so on Saturday. I was complimenting them.
My point was that they did so, and the throws weren’t there.

So, we don't use misdirection? We don't use fakes, and play action? I wonder why we don't do those things?
Wait. You guys keep saying we aren't scheming our wrs open, then you give me example after example of us scheming them open.
Now I am really confused. Are we scheming our wrs open, or are we not?
Is it the fault of the wrs, the OC, or Fromm. I am getting mixed signals from our fan base.
