I'm with you on this one. 69 recruited scholarship athletes to begin the 2012 season and ended up a tipped pass from being SEC Champions and eventual national champions. What a difference the other 16 might have made.

Not managing the roster to have 85 or close to 85 recruited scholarship athletes at the beginning of fall camp every year is a definite fireable offense in my book. I am glad this gaping hole in our program has been remedied.

To be fair, I think it's safe to say that without the drumbeat of dissatisfaction at the outcomes and losses from previous years we wouldn't have seen the changes that have led us to where we are now. If everyone would've adopted an "aw shucks, we'll get them next year" mantra would we have had the AD give in and open up the checkbook to put the current regime in place? Would we have dropped the money we needed for Pruitt, Schotty and the other coaches and assistants we have now? I doubt it.

There were some pretty pissed off folks and it appears they got the message. That's been a plus ... Not a minus.

Classic.

So, If it weren't for Richt's critics that said he doesn't have it in him......he'd have never ever of had it in him.

This is f'n awesome. Exciting Times.

Jesus, you have no idea what you're talking about. Our stated (non)oversigning policy came from our AD (and above) along with our drug testing and disciplinary procedures. We also should have had a proactive AD when it came to hiring administrative assistants and building an IPF.

Hanging roster mgt squarely on CMR'S sholders is absurd.
