I think he is much better. Stafford believed his own hype and tried to show how strong of an arm he had on every throw. Murray also knows how to command the offense and read defenses. You give Murray Stafford's size and arm strength and watch him work wonders.

We will miss Murray a lot more than Stafford.

Stafford was obviously the better NFL prospect but Murray has contributed much more to UGA at the college level. Statistically, Murray has been one of the best SEC QB's.

Stafford had much better physical skills but just seemed to use us to keep warm till the NFL. Murray seems to care more about UGA.

Stafford was a lot better at this. Richt and Bobo let Staff call his own audibles, Murray doesn't .

Talent wise no question it is Stafford. Heart and desire, Murray. Even though I would say that Staff had it his Freshman and Sophomore year but I think he and Knowshon both spent a lot of time partying their last year.

Murray would've went 6-7 with the offensive line Stafford had to work with his 3 years. Kind of like he did his freshman year. Stafford was better. At all of it. It's not his fault Murray has to spend 22 hours a week studying film just to still not be able to recognize formations.

Murray is a DGD and I'll miss him when he's gone.

If I were to take the best supporting cast members from their respective teams and choose one QB (from their last seasons with UGA), I'd put Murray behind center to lead us to victory.

Wish we had Stafford with Murray's work ethic minus the color blindness

Murray hands down. He bleeds GA. Stafford had all the talent, but Murray had heart.

Murray is probably one of the few guys Saban wishes he had. Not knocking the team. Murray is special.

This

Don't get me wrong, Murray is the better "dawg" so to speak but, as someone else said, if you had Stafford with Murrays work ethic, heart and desire and you are probably looking at not only the UGA GOAT but also the NFL GOAT.

He was nothing at all like Clowney is. I think people don't look at Stafford like they look at Murray because the coaches never talked about how hard he worked in the film room and blah blah blah...he didn't have to. They trusted him to read a defense and change the plays when he was a true freshman. Murray is a 5th year senior and the whole offense still looks to the sideline for an audible. Stafford didn't have to take his line out for ice cream, hand out questionnaires about what the team thinks he should do to be an effective leader or whatever fake juice Murray needs to do.

I think Stafford gets a bad rap among Dawg fans. I hear things like "he didn't have the heart" or "he didn't care as much about UGA as Murray" but how can a person even make make these conclusions based on something so subjective? I suppose most of it is based on the fact he bolted for the NFL early - which any rational person would do if they're projected in the top ten.

The fact of the matter is - I still cringe when AM throws deep passes or when we're backed up in our own endzone (his INT sweet spot) or when there's less than five seconds on the play clock because I'm afraid he'll have a delay of game. He's a fifth year senior; why does he ALWAYS have a delay of game? I wasn't as worried about these things with Fat.

Well said, madam. I think Fatty didn't have the same devotion cause he was getting hammered Thursday night before games with Knowshon. And he bolted. But hell, I've seen Murray do the same shite. Honestly if I had the power I'd 10 out of 10 times take Stafford over Murray with this roster.

All the other things you said I think are right on. I think Fatty gets the shite end of the stick while Murray for some reason has the fan base enamored. I think both are undeserved. I think Stafford is also just naturally more poised. He made shitty INTs back in the day but that stemmed for from overconfidence in his arm I feel than horrible decision making. Plus, Stafford's bombs into triple coverage made me cringe way less than when Murray does it.
