The dude is a no go. He’s wearing a size 26 pants and they’re still falling off. Also, note his sleeves are rolled AND buttoned. Skinny wrists. In fact, with the extinguisher in frame to scale this guy is undersized and weak. He’ll have a hard time reaching the target.

Now the Asian girl, is carrying a pack on her trip so she probably had a solid core. Also, look at her right hand - oversized. And she has a camera with a selfie stick so we know she’s mobile and has good hand eye coordination.

I’m going with her.

Edit: I actually perused the list and there are a few winners there...some southern girls and one dude with a hoodie. Depending on who gets the nod to compete there could be a baller hidden in there.

I wonder how easy these people are to get it touch with. I need to give my rep a few pointers

Yeah, I did the same. The question is which two are throwing in our game?

There's a major flaw in the idea for a draft.

Since we won't know the exact two finalists until halftime, it could end up with one of you having drafted both of the final two contestants. So that's not going to work.

We could seed the draft in order of your preferred contestants or something like that. But, I'm telling you, this ball toss thing happens quick and is over before you know it. So that might get confusing.

What if they both pick 1 player and see who advances farther?

Of course you would need a tie breaker in case they both go out in same round.

Total number made balls in finals?

Just ideas.

They only show the final round though. The other rounds happen at Georgia World Congress Center during the day with the cast of Dr Pepper Fansville there signing autographs. So we won't know who makes finals until halftime 12 seconds before they start chucking balls into giant dr pepper cans.

However....

The draft may still work because there's only 4 finalists.

What we could do is seed the draft, so that IF both of someone's picks make the final, they would default to their first pick. And the other would get the remaining person.

Example: If both of SicEm's draft picks make the finals, then SicEm will be represented by his first draft pick. And Tween will be represented by the other guy/gal. And vice verso.

Also there's actually five of these things. ONe at halftime in every conference championship game.

So, another idea would be to have a best of three or best of five tournament using the old tried-n-true Left vs Right method.

A best of 5 tournament would be some high drama if it went to 5 matches by way of back n forth facemelters for someone to stay alive.

I'm leaning towards this now. HGMF'ers

SicEm/Tween,

Your thoughts please on whether to do a seeded draft for the SECcg haltime toss death off......or doing a traditional Left vs Right death off, but this time in a best of 5 tournament of all five championship game dr pepper tosses.

Thanks

I don’t know what I want. I like the suspense of a best of 5 but I want to feel like I have more input than a left/right guess

So those are the final four for sure? I like the idea of drafting them and then if one of us picks both of the final two, splitting them up. How about we do that with the SECCG, Big 10, Big 12, Pac 12 and ACC games? That's plenty of opportunity for us to pick and have a say in what happens. We each pick two of the four finalists for each game and whichever two end up throwing is what we use for scoring. Just add up the totals when the final game is over; most throws made wins. Plus, it keeps me and Tween in it all day, same as if we were making the normal picks.

And to make it fair....we can do this like an MLB playoff five-game series. I pick the first and third pick in the first two games (based on time of day played), Tween picks first and third the next two games, then I pick first and third for the fifth and final game. A home field advantage of sorts for me.

What say you guys?

ETA: after reading Jeff’s post again, why not combine what I suggested above with the best of five idea? First to three wins lives?

I like the idea of you guys drafting players...and if a single player has two players selected for the SECCG they keep their higher pick.

It could be pretty nuts following these players across multiple games during multiple halftimes.

I like it. The PAC 12 is Friday right? We gotta get the ball rolling. We draft 1, 2, 3, 4 alternating for each game and if one of us gets both people than it’s either a free win or the lower pick goes to the other and the footballs in the can talk.

I hope I’m around to watch the night games on Saturday

Done deal. I delegate the draft to you and SicEm to get done then.

Just get me draft results for all five conference championships. (Finalists for each listed here.) Then, if one person gets both of their picks in a halftime final, the higher rated pick goes to the one that picked them, and the lower rated pick goes to the other.

I'll hype each dr pepper death-match with the details inside the HGMF thread before each halftime. WIth death-off leaderboards etc
