GaSo collapsed on defense against NCST in the second half, and they had to defend 47 plays for 19+ clock minutes in the second half against Savannah St. Against NCST, they allowed twice as many yards in the second half as in the first half (330 to a pretty pathetic offense). Against Savannah St? 10 times as many in the second half (248 to the single most pathetic offense). Our stats also shift in the second half, but so far in the opposite direction.
I think Vegas is predicting this ...

Georgia Southern beat Savannah State 83-9. Led 48-0 at the half. So, most likely they had their 3rd string playing in the second half, don't you think?.............
That being said, I'm still on Georgia Tech in this one. I think what Vegas sees is that Tech defends the triple option every day in practice, so they'll be better prepared for it unlike NC State.
Tech wins "The Battle of the high school Offenses" by at least 24, imo...........

Is that 9.5 line for our game right? Vegas odds have it 5.5.

The Defensive Scout Team defends against the Flexbone errrrday. Not the ones and twos on starting D.

frick Vegas. They started at -2.5.........and it's already now -6.5 in some places.
-9.5 is the HGMF line for the Georgia game.

You're right.....What would CPJ know about defending against this style of Offense?
I mean, he's only been watching it get shut down for years and years. And years.
Jackets by 24. Minimum.

I see tons of people are picking Oklahoma to destroy UT.
I just don't see them winning by 18. I expect them to win in a dog fight by a minimum of 10 points.
Tennessee lost 3 games by that margin last year or more and that was versus Oregon, Bama, and Auburn.
Oklahoma last year didn't beat any team with a pulse by more than 18 points. They beat Alabama, Texas Tech, kansas State, Notre Dame and West Virginia by less than 2 touchdowns and had their asses handed to them by Baylor and Texas. Don't believe the hype.

Ga Southern doesnt run the triple option anymore. Their coach from last year went to Navy, they run a spread option sorda like Auburn now. Just FYI.

Just poking at you Jeff.

Defending the option is easy. Interior Lineman and Inside Backers play the dive. DEs take QB. Outside Backers and Corners take the pitch. Safeties are running the alley QB to the pitch.
There are of course other ways to play it but that was the way I was taught. Everyone has an option assignment every play.
It's when someone misses their assignment that you get gashed. I'm still on the fence on this pick.

It might not be the same exact Triple Option that SOuthern has traditionally ran, but it's still close............
Jackets by 30 now. Imo. Lock of the weekend.

I've got a strong opinion on this one too. But, I already gave away the GA Tech Lock, so I'll shut up now......
I've got a roster to make here.
