We didn’t deserve Richt and we don’t deserve Smart. Not until he cull these cünts from our ranks. We have won 2 Natties and were in OT for another one. We have the best program in the country. Yet, we have people not just upset, but mad and really just fricking hateful. First it was Stet, now its Bobo. I mean these guys are and were 2 Damn good dawgs and we have scores of people who have been just awful on all facets of media.
Seriously, we have become Bama. We don’t deserve this. We got lucky with Smart. He will go down as one of the best ever, yet, listen to his press conferences and the shite he has to answer about the fans. You know who you are.

I think that you are 1 out of 2, there.
I ABSOLUTELY believe that the fan base, as a whole, deserved the product that Richt gave us. "Almost, but not quite. Just wait 'til next year!"
But, you are right in that we, as a whole, don't deserve Kirby Smart. But, then, does Alabama deserve Saban? Saban is always on that cross over there.
I suspect it's true everywhere when total success has been achieved at a consistent level. Anything less will not be tolerated.

Richt was frustrating, but for those of us that lived through 15 years of hoping we went 2-2 vs UF, UT, Tech, and Auburn certainly appreciated what Richt did for us. Pretty much owned Tech and Auburn and beat UF and UT pretty regularly overall vs what we had done before. He made some bad coaching decisions and his discipline methods had us the brunt of jokes and hurt us in some games. I get what he was trying to do, but it didn’t work.
I still believe he could have lucked out and won one. Look at Auburn,FSU, and LSU for example.
Smart is a whole other level. He has built a machine.
One other note. Richt worked under a facility situation that had us wayyy behind due to Coach Dooley being egregiously cheap. Smart was in a much better spot in that aspect coming in thanks to Richt. Smart has taken that aspect to a much higher level as well. Smart gets paid a ton, but he busts his arse for this program. To have issue with whatever he does is one thing. To be a condescending cünt about it is another.

Man, I still held out hope for all those years for that to be true, but when we needed luck, she was fleeting under Richt.
I'm not sure if Richt was going to be lucky enough against the top teams in a playoff. We will never know, though.
He certainly got us close, and he absolutely closed the gap between our program and the top programs that had widened during the 90's. I can respect that and even appreciate it.
The meltdown and chaos in that thread above will be nothing when compared to the meltdown and chaos thread when Kirby finally retires.

WVU was frustrating because we got owned on the line of scrimmage (offense and defense) in the first half.
I know that he wasn't OC. But did Bobo call plays from the booth that game?

If you read further I was clear that I wanted CMR gone for a while. I just didn’t agree with constantly shite talking him or the team every game all season long.
My comment was targeted at the folks that spammed the Board with “Fire Richt” every time things went south because it was annoying AF. I was curious that now that they got their way if that was acceptable behavior.
Little did I know the Eason, Fromm and Fields drama was just starting.

As far as I know, Richt was still calling his own plays at that time. It wasn't until 2006 or 2007 (I THINK) that Richt, secretly, started letting Bobo call the plays, and then promoted him after Calliway left.

Yeah, but we didn't, and that's unfortunate, because I'd have liked to see that 2002 team match up, and in 2007, we were as hot as anyone. 2012 would have been interesting, but we shot ourselves in the foot.

Richt was around at the start of the playoffs. IDGAF about that 9-3 record in 2015, Richt was about to bottom out as a coach. That 2013 class was shite and was going to fall apart and bite Richt in the arse the hard way. He wasn't gonna luck his way in and luck his way through after that.
