What has happened to our adjustments at half time, particularly on defense?

From Seth Emerson's Article:

Wtf. Is it fatigue? I remember bragging that our half time adjustments, particularly on defense were always solid, but that looks to be a bit premature.

Whats up with the adjustments on D>

Take Auburn out of the equation, and account for the fact that South Carolina and Kentucky are the 2nd and 3rd best teams in the East and it really isn't much of a noteworthy stat.

The wole team has lost some fire we started the year with.

As the season goes along teams can stop focusing on the fundamentals and focus on game plans and individual teams. During our off week, we should have used week one to refocus on the fundamentals (Tackling form and having everybody run to the ball). Instead, it looks like we focused on Florida. Another learning moment for the coaches. They do seem to learn from their mistakes, year over year, though.

This. We gave up 10 third quarter points against the two best teams from the East.

Auburn we shite the bed.

Not really that concerning if you ask me.

I think it's fatigue mixed with playing against teams that are better versions of themselves. A lot of teams naturally get better as the season progresses, so we're playing teams late in the year that have it (mostly) together at this point. After all, we're talking about Auburn, who is arguably the best team in the West (or a close 2nd), and South Carolina and Kentucky who are probably the 2nd and 3rd best teams in the East right now (they are certainly the 2nd and 3rd best according to standings).

I don't think points allowed in the 3rd quarter this late in the season is as troubling as our offensive struggles generally against Auburn and in the first quarter against Kentucky.

This. I was actually concerned about defensive fatigue after seeing how Kentucky was able to shut down our running game in the 1st quarter. Fortunately we started making some big plays on offense that became the difference in the game. Still, Kentucky actually ran 2 more plays on offense than we did, 60 vs 58, which you would not think considering how lopsided the score was.

It will happen again against Tech. Hopefully we'll have a large lead by then.

Could it be that we really did have a very weak schedule and we aren't able to just bully the elite, like we can with the teams of the East?

Something happened in the second half of UF.

They stop playing with momentum and we saw glimpses in the second half of the UK game.

S. Carolina game you could see there was a problem of focus. Reverted back to 2016 for some reason.

I think we are missing a vocal leader like Jarvis or Shawn Williams that could help overcome the fatigue of the season.

We will beat Tech but I don’t think we have the juice anymore to beat whomever we play in the SECG.

We just seem to be a slightly different team on defense when another team challenges us.

Never see Lorenzo in those moments or any of our LB’s. Their names were called every other play.

You mean like in the Notre Dame game when Lorenzo, Roquan and Bellamy literally won the game for us?

I know, but that's the only close ball game we've played in. I think saying that they never show up in big moments is pretty unfair.

They should be playing more big time than they are.

Lorenzo gets lost at times

Or our penalties nearly cost us the game

However, they are being schemed for now that it is known we are a threat. Also, we've really shown no surprises on D, either.
