Senior Design Team GTAA Gameday Flow was tasked by the Georgia Tech Athletic Association (GTAA) to redesign game day operations to improve the fan experience at Bobby Dodd Stadium. The team created a new staffing plan at all entry gates, which will reduce average fan waiting time by 78 percent. The team delivered a concept design for a new concession stand in the southeast corridor that integrates the Tapingo mobile ordering platform. The new stand will pay for itself while simultaneously reducing the congestion in the lower east corridor by 64 percent. The team developed a business case for using Tapingo at all stadium concession stands. They additionally proposed a police offer placement plan on Northside Drive that can reduce average traffic commute time on this road by 73 percent. The recommendations will save fans 13,000 hours of wait time over a season.

Did they figure out how to make less rapes?

1) Are you trying to convince this board that Tech's relevant are you trying to convince yourself?
2) Why don't they implement this at a stadium where congestion is actually a problem?

Turn all the lights green and have cops keep cross traffic stopped.... Genius!

Sounds like an engineer's plan. A business man would have made Tapingo pay for its own installation AND keep the royalties. AND make them pay to display their logo, AND make them pay to be the official concession payment system of GTA. Yall got ripped off.

I mean...how hard is it to seat 5,000 fans

Do concession stand wait times really count as real world problems?
Also a DeVry grad could figure out all these solutions

Good stuff.
The DSOR is in Atlanta this year, so you should have one game where this will help the congestion.

How long could it possibly take to get into a stadium where attendance doesn't surpass 25% of capacity?

The Senior Design team designed a queuing strategy for the entry gates and concession stands, which involved converting multiple queues to a single queue that distributes to multiple servers. Fundamentally, a single queue (like at amusement parks) is faster than multiple queues (like at a grocery store). The team worked with the GTAA to implement a pilot of these queues during the October 29 Tech-Duke game at Gate 8 and one of the concession stands in the east concourse of the stadium. The team observed that there was a dramatic reduction in wait time in the queues, and so the GTAA plans to continue this queuing strategy and expand it to the rest of the stadium.

Translation:
The sql was running on one server and causing latency and pegging the cpu during peak times. So they bought more servers.
A 12 year old gamer could have told you this.
Edit- probably also included an upgrade from 08 to 2012 because when the called the help desk they said it wasn't supported anymore.

I know you came here to share with us how awesome GT is, but all this article does is indict your athletic department for being so half-assed. Like it's still 1996 at Bobby Dodd and you are still trying to figure out what to do with the Olympics money.

A nooner against duke, where the official attendance was listed a tick over 43K. Color me shocked that entry lines moved quickly.

Were they talking about servers?
Or servers?
Bottom line: UGA will copycat somebody's idea

Copy catting the age old idea of closing roads and reversing traffic to get people out of big events.
GT is so custy.

Should name your indoor practice facility after Kevin.
Because it looks like a Butler Building.
