Idea:

We give the selfish self centered deeprig until 12 noon to start fulfilling his duties as RibOff host, or we form a mutiny, get WG to ban him from the GSB for 24 hours, and disqualify any effort he may put forth to have his entry entered into the contest today.

May not need charcoal today. Just set the cooker in the sun and 225 should be easy.

Planning butcher paper wrap eventually. I like to let it smoke a little bit longer into the stall since I have time.

Probably wrap it in about 1ish, bring to temp until 3-3:30, then let rest for a 5pm dinner.

My rules for family coming over is, we aim for a time, but eat when the meat tells us. My Grandma(RIP)’s Mac and cheese takes 1.5hrs to cook, so that goes in when resting starts so everything is ready at the same time.

Now just waiting for the family to get here, wives and kids head to the pool and crack open my first beer of the day….ETA 25 mins until first sip

Not retired, no plans to ever go to the villages, and never picked up a pickle ball racquet….sticking with tennis

We like to eat early on 4th so we can take our time, enjoy the family during dinner, and eat dessert…..then kids can play and do some little firecrackers before family leaves.

Side note:

Not sure true, but someone once told me The Villages has the highest rate of STDs per capita of any community it’s size in the entire country
