I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often especially in Cobb and Gwinnett.

You have to put your name on the complaint and most people don't want to do that.

GHSA aside, there’s no way I’m ever divorcing my wife (even temporarily) for my son to play football. There is such a thing as priorities.

Mocking man's rules is one thing, mocking God's is another.

Also, he already has a scholarship to USC, so it’s not like it’s his last chance ever to play.

Bingo. He was leaving in December anyway.

High school action tonight-

Seems they should have gotten a ruling before they spent all the money to do this. Can you imagine, lawyer fees, moving costs, apartment costs, then denied.

They already had a ruling in their favor after the move though.

I do think the hypocrisy of all this is they still let private schools recruit and the players play even after being poached from public schools. IMG, Mater Dei, Bishop Gorman, Brentwood Academy etc... All just pick and choose whi they want. IMGs qb moved down from Illinois for the same reason as Garcia.

None of those are in Ga and if you transfer to a private school you have to play jv for a year unless you've physically moved somewhere closer. And IMG doesn't play in the FHSA so they can be eligible immediately.

IMG has three teams, one that plays on FHSA, one freelance that travels, and a prep team for hs graduates to prepare for college.

The prior ruling will be where the legal jeopardy is. Who is to say what a family went through and reconciled and any evidence secured through journalistic means really doesn't mean much. It all changes when you go under oath.

That said, not sure I would want to upset the balance of my team by brining in a new qb at seasons start.

If the parent and child reside in the community what is the argument for barring the kid from playing HS football? I don't get it. Shouldn't the GHSA head work for the betterment of high school football in Georgia?

You would have to ask them. Surely you understand that there is no way we know all the ins and outs of every situation. The kids/schools that want a ruling would provide the powers that be with all of the pertinent information and they would make the decision. And, they don't make their decision based upon a fans wants.

And the "betterment of high school football in Georgia" is a very subjective thing. What one person thinks is betterment another person thinks it makes things worse.

That's right. A couple of area schools filed complaints. GHSA had to rule him ineligible, they had no choice.

As I said. I know Glenn White very well. He is an outstanding person. (I should say, knew him years ago. I've seen and talked to him within the last 5 years, but do not stay in touch) Glenn, in my book is beyond reproach. Highly intelligent and stubbornly fair.

Seems that the parents weren't legally separated long enough to be eligible at Valdosta.

Makes you wonder how the parents of the local qb feel about this.

Right before the season your boy gets replaced by an outaider.
