There you go. Now Stet is gone and our loyal fanbase needs a new whipping boy. Enter Bobo/Beck. They're being criticized same as Stet: for not being successful enough. Makes me sick.

It’s a feel and look/eye test thing with Beck for me. He also hasn’t gotten very good OL play to be fair and we are injured at some key weapons for him.

I will say this....the offense (to me) does not seem to have the same snap and crispness when he is in there as opposed to Vandagriff or Stockton. I will admit that. But, an argument could be made that the other team is beaten down and tired when they get in the game.

I don't know. But, his stats seem to be ok and his decision making has been solid so far. I don't recall him making any decisions that made me concerned yet.

As long as he is solid and the Oline continues to improve we should be alright. We need to get healthy at RB and WR, too.
I am satisfied that we can win with Beck at QB. Doesn't mean will will go 15-0 or even win the title, though. The whole teams seems to lack something. But that could be us being spoiled, or the team/coaches holding back a bit....I don't know.

ETA
After thinking about my post I would also add that offense comes along more slowly than defense. While they both have specific assignments defense typically is more reactionary to what an offense does, while offense is more timing based.

I agree, but(discounting the Oregon game)early last season and much of 21 felt the same to me. Then last year they won vs Missouri and it seems to change from that point forward. I don't know if it's a trust issue, a gel issue, or just it "clicked" but it seems for most teams, and you look around the league, it takes a while to get their skis under them.....and then they do and it's off to the races. I'm not worried about Beck, Bobo or anything else except all these injuries. It's gonna "click," and the gut-check by USC may very well been the stimuli that provided it. Just have to wait and see.

I look at it holistically. Whatever that means, I'm not sure, I'm just using that word. I look at the team as a whole. We have as good a roster as anyone in the country. We have as good a coaching staff as anyone in the country. If we win by 1 point or 40, the W still gets put on the board and we are one step closer. Next play. "Next Moment" as Kirby said in his locker room speech. I'm the same psychology as a fan. Incremental improvement.

There's a reason we're still ranked #1 and are the betting odds favorite for winning it all again.

We just keep winning games.

Our offense controlled how many possessions their offense got as well. When we play a different team, we will have a different strategy. I know this because our coach won us 2 Nattys in a row. I swear, it’s like our fanbase is married to a hot gal who is a Doctor, a great cook, likes fishing and still blows them once a week, but they would rather have the whore stripper from the Cheetah because she is more explosive.

I think you’re overreacting to a relatively minor critique of a very good football team. I’m not saying the sky is falling.

I know a bunch of fans don't really have a single clue whats going on. Which is why for two years of Stetson blowing almost every team out - we still had complaints about his play.

Carson Beck is that dude - He's never really been in a position to lead before and just played great in a come from behind game against a game opponent. He has came along much better than I expected. He's going to have a great season and all the haters can suck a fat one. The two young guys are riding the pine for a reason.

The slow starts are my only concern. Whether it’s by design or not, it’s driving me (I don’t matter) crazy. I feel it’s gonna cost us at some point. Playing from behind to an equal/talented team forces the offense to change their philosophy. It may not happen during the regular season, but if UGA is blessed enough to make it to the playoffs again, it could cost them there.

Could you also give credit that the offensive coaches have done a good job figuring things out in game and making it happen? And doing this with a lot of new players? While keeping turnovers down? Do you also feel the playcalls and strategy will change in games you are concerned about?

Oh yeah… no doubt. Again though, 3 games in now so we should at least improvement enough to score a TD in the 1Q?

I’ve questioned Beck mostly in these first half’s, not necessarily the coaching. I honestly don’t see much of a difference in the offense. They do appear to be getting close.

Good points. And I should add that it could be just a bit that I am a little spoiled by the last two years success. Imagine being spoiled as a Georgia fan after the last two years.

I’m sure you had a good time watching those early Big Ben team’s dominance though and just couldn’t stomach not having one favorite team not be elite.

I've been a Steelers fan since the Neil O'Donnell/Kordell Stewart days in the mid 90's, baw.

Keep thinking you have me figured out, it's cute.

Kirby refers to it as slow scoring, not slow starts. He says new personnel, but mainly injuries to key players, require adjustments as the game progresses. Seems to work because 2nd half scoring is not a problem. As new players mature and veterans heal and get back on the field we should see a strong second half of the season. I'm only worried about the Auburn game at this point.
