Not sure this was the type of win that moves them to #2. I think Dawgs stick at 3 but PSU is reaching a tough stretch starting next week.

Don't look at Carries...look at meaningful carries and meaningful snaps.

I cringed because they would've covered with another TD.

frick you. He is the worst back in the stable. He shouldn't be taking touches away from the others, including Holyfield.

I cringed at myself for not betting on them not covering the spread.

I'm impressed at how much we complained about the OL and playcalling tonight in a game we set UGA records for yards and averaged almost 8 yards per carry excluding kneels.

I’m guessing that Herrien still comes in first because he’s a better blocker and probably is a better target out of the backfield. And maybe Holyfield doesn’t practice as well...Kirby keeps saying that practice matters.

I haven't had the chance to read the game thread, does everybody still want Mecole benched and processed after the season?

On that one pass he was a damn bolt of lightning once he started moving.

fricking this...

For all our griping, and yes, the interior OL was getting pushed around for the first quarter or so... Chaney with some very well made adjustments in play calling/approach and we more or less abused them on offense after that.

Pass defense will need some work, but we *knew* that it hadn't really been tested yet... this was perfect timing for a good dose of reality to our D, and many of us even called that it was going to be problematic... our schedule really has setup well in that regard, starting with opening the season against several mobile/option-ish QBs in a row, then Shurmur as a pre-game to Lock's downfield threat... now we're on our way into a bye week, humbled and ready to prove something. UF going into the bye week demoralized after 2 home losses in a row. Auburn also looking a little exposed today as well, getting out-physical'd by LSU.

On top of that, I'm super encouraged for the most part by the way our pass D responded in the second half.

Most likely the primary reason... best targets out of the backfield are Sony and Swift I believe.

Also, someone earlier said Dog House... the MJ pop likely didn't do him any favors this year... also, did anyone notice the camera shot mid game with 4 of the RBs sitting together? Not sure if it was just happenstance or if I just missed him, but I didn't see Holyfield with them at all, but Swift, Herrien, Chubb, and Michel were all hanging out and enjoying themselves after the big Swift run/Michel TD drive I believe. Just seemed odd to not see Holyfield hanging with them? Likely nothing to read into there, but did note it as interesting.

I dunno... I'm really glad he had the opportunity to get the big catch and run though... mentioned it back in the game thread. Catches often lead to more catches... builds confidence for Mecole, and also confidence from Fromm *IN* Mecole.

Yup! It didn't seem like Mizzou was as willing to take deep shots. When I watch the replay, I'll be interested to see if it's because we literally took it away from them or what... but was good to see for sure.

Also, don't look now, but Az St trying to make this Washington game interesting... still early and only a one score game, but they're hanging with them right now. Just got a punt block to get a short field here, but not doing anything with it. :/

I agree that the best targets out of the backfield are Sony/Swift. I was simply putting it in the context of Herrien vs Holyfield conversation. Cheney has no qualms with throwing to Herrien out of the backfield, and does it a couple of times per game. I don’t remember seeing Holyfield thrown to yet this season.

I gotcha. Yeah, I don't recall a Holyfield reception thus far? I do wonder why we haven't seen him back on kickoffs again after his opening KO return in the UT game... the penalty didn't have shite to do with him and really wasn't related to springing him... he turned on the jets on that one. My only guess is something about not practicing hard enough for the coaches or something, but you'd think if that was the case, that he may not get the ball at all? It is perplexing that's for sure... I just hope he feels good about his chances to secure significant playing time next year.
