This has got to be one of the dumbest posts I've ever seen when comparing positions.

quote:

I feel really good about our running game. Our starting back was a US Army All American out of high school, Gurley was not. Not to mention, he played very well in the #2 role last season. The difference is your program had to play freshmen because you had no depth while we had talented backs sitting behind Ellington. Our 3rd string running back was the #1 player in Arkansas in the 2012 recruiting class. You have us beat in experience, but our talent level at RB is pretty high. WR isn't even close. WR is Clemson by a landslide. Murray isn't the QB Boyd is. That's why Boyd is listed on everyone's top 3 Heisman list and Murray is on no one's. Murray has won what 1 game in his career against the top 25 in three years? 2 games maybe? Last I counted, Boyd had won 6 in two seasons against ranked teams. I honestly think Clemson wins this game by 10 points and I picked us to lose to both FSU and South Carolina last year, so I don't pick with bias.

That's what I was pointing at for the most part. Both QBs are good I just can't take any argument the guy takes seriously afte the first 2 sentences.

That nonsense isn't even worth a rebuttal. Just nutty. shite, I'd take Gurley over Ellington last year, let alone his back up.

My eyes started to cross and my brain began to bleed reading this garbage. I hope other Clemson fans didn’t support this ridiculous attempt at homerism

I'm just going to dissect this piece by piece.

quote:

I feel really good about our running game.

OK, why?

quote:

Our starting back was a US Army All American out of high school,

Aight, that's not that bad, and is better than most teams could say....

quote:

Gurley was not.

Dammit he failed there, did he not watch last season.

quote:

The difference is your program had to play freshmen because you had no depth while we had talented backs sitting behind Ellington.

...Usually the best players on any team play, does clemson do it differently?

quote:

Our 3rd string running back was the #1 player in Arkansas in the 2012 recruiting class.

best player in arky...stop it!

quote:

WR isn't even close. WR is Clemson by a landslide.

OK, I'll agree with that guy on that, on paper, they have better WR's.

quote:

Murray isn't the QB Boyd is

quote:

Murray has won what 1 game in his career against the top 25 in three years? 2 games maybe?

well, isn't that right?

quote:

Last I counted, Boyd had won 6 in two seasons against ranked teams.

Boyd beat 1 team last year (LSU) that was in the final top 25 rankings...Who were the 5 he beat in '11 again? Tater Math!

Watkins is better than any WR UGA has for sure, but I'll take the depth of Mitchell, Bennett, Conley, Lynch, Rome (TEs count too), JSW, Wooten and whatever Tibbs and Rumph bring us over one star any day.

He's half right. Murray has a lot to prove this season or he could go out as one of the most hyped QB's to never achieve significance. He has never won a significant game. He has NO championships. Boyd has an ACC championship. I know that's like taking your cousin to the prom but still, it's a championship!
We need to roll Clem's son and get even with SC and LSU and then beat Ufag and win the SC champ game. Then Murray will go down as a GREAT QB. He is better than Boyd.
Clem's Son it's coming

Even though he didnt play well I'd say beating 2nd ranked Florida was a pretty fricking huge game.

Last year Murray was 3-2 vs. teams that finished ranked.

Florida
Nebraska
Vandy

South Carolina
Bama

The year before he beat two ranked teams (Auburn and GT)

They didn't finish ranked partially due to how bad Murray lit their asses up.
