I can't speak for Peter...but nobody has a problem with an opinion. And opinion would be saying, "I think Daniels is the better QB and I hope he gets his opportunity."
That is not what is happening here. We have supposed fans calling our QB trash, and saying he can't do this or that!" and speaking as if it is a foregone conclusion and their opinion should not be questioned. And then thread after thread after thread is started trashing the QB and the coach as if they somehow know more about the game and the players than the coach does.
That is where the rub for many of us is. Those who have played will definitely get more animated and hostile because players get tired of people who have never played questioning coaches and players abilities.
Perfect example. In high school my team was ranked #4 in the state and we played the #2 team in the state. We got beat 7-6. A missed ExP. I had a guy come up to me in class and ask why we didn't win? We were a lot better than the other team and we didn't try hard enough.
You want to guess what my reaction was?

Yes. that was 3 lifetimes ago. I am an old worn out man.

Cincinnati was a good team but we don’t have time to knock the rust off of J. T. So Stet’s the man

Your presupposition that people that have not “contributed as much to the UGA football team as you or lived their life a certain way” should basically not have an opinion. My opinion is that everybody including those that have never graced the classic city can voice their opinion. Our fans are the best in college football. They have the right to pull for UGA any way they choose. Now if your believe the same way, I apologize. However, it was easy to glean that from your comments.
Thanks….Let me clarify it for you.
1) We have a lot of great fans, but also some that embarrass the rest of us.
2) I guess one has the right as a fan to question a play, scheme, call, or whatever. A lot of times, they do so with a lack of context. Not having practical experience in this regard along with a lack of context makes one’s opinion not fully informed at best. So, when I see people making assumptions as though they are bible fact, I like to challenge them. I do so also not knowing the full context, but having more practical experience. It does not mean I am right, but discounting my opinion seems silly to me in this context, but whatever.
3) No one on here has earned the right to mock or belittle a UGA football player. Walk on, scout team, starter, or whatever. If you want to convey that you think another player is better or that a player is not up to par or that they made a bad play or whatever… I don’t think anyone has an issue with that other than challenging your assessment… but, when people mock, belittle, etc… they have not earned the right. Some don’t like to be told this, because in their fantasy world, they think they are better …somehow. When in fact, they would have given their left nut to have done what anyone who has donned the red and black have done.
4) Some people think they understand football on here. Some do. Some kinda do. Some are clueless and plenty are just trolls.
5) Specifically in regards to Stetson Bennett, all the kid has done for our team, yet a bunch of miserable cünts out there who could not hold a candle to his ability or character mock, belittle, and scream their cünty little heads off to the point where even national news people see it and the dude we are hoping can get us over the top has to answer questions about it every time he speaks? This is why they are the cünt nation and why more and more UGA fans are growing tired of them.

This is a juvenile fantasy. If you actually believe it, this can only mean that you are still clinging to glory days and can't imagine anyone else could do something as impressive or exciting as play football for UGA. I mean, what else is there?

Stetson Bennett
Your obsession with him and his mom seems unhealthy. Nonetheless, there are probably reasons why people have wanted to see other QBs playing and will be glad when this guy finally moves on. 68-9 is telling.

Peter, I agree with all of your points. No one has the right to ad hominem types of attacks against players or fans. You’re right people that state an opinion open their opinion up to scrutiny. This is what a discussion board is all about. I know Stetsons family, I dealt with Stetson Bennett the second when he was the clerk of court in Wayne County. He’s a super great kid. He was a well mannered awesome young man and still is. I lacked confidence he was able to bring us from behind in games like the one against Bama. No one attacked my opinion there were three of you that swooped in and attacked me for your rationale set forth in part 4 of your previous post. I’ve been a fan I’m sure longer than you’ve been alive. I played football my entire life minus college. I have a better than average understanding of X’s and
O’s. You hit on something vital … attack the post not the poster.

I think we can get him out of the mire and soundly on the good side Jefferson. Think it was just lost in translation.

Again. An opinion? I'm good with. Continuous unwarranted criticism? Not so much.

JD if you want to talk football, I will be glad to. The only interactions ive had with you have been quite venomous. So if you would like to remain a douche, I will gladly continue to treat you like one.

I was referring to JT beating a good team. However, he didn’t have a very good game against them. He seemed to struggle against good defenses.

He’s a finger-wagging hall monitor type that gets his feelings hurt at the drop of a hat and then goes on a vendetta against you like the girl in high school that had a crush on you, but you didn’t return her affections
We need more people passionately and creatively arguing their opinions and stance.s. in my humble opinion. Whichever side it’s on . Not more finger wagging scorned hall monitor hypocrites with sensitive feewings

Fair enough. I just meant that Cincinnati was not that good last year if we could beat them with 12 players missing. However, our OLine was a part of the missing players and the OLine was playing out of their normal positions, and Daniels did play well.
I guess my thinking was that had all 12 of our normal players been playing I think we would have boat raced them worse than Michigan, and the narrative would be different about them.
That said, Daniels did play well and I don't think anybody has a problem with Daniels. Just a problem with the way Bennett/Kirby Smart has been treated/spoken about.

I think they were a good team last year. Their DC went on to be a HC if I’m not mistaken? They returned a lot of seniors.

His pass to Burton for the TD before the half was a gem. Every other long ball was overthrown or underthrown. Bryce Young, by comparison, never misses his mark.
The throw to Cook was probably Stetson’s best throw in a Georgia uniform. And what deep balls did Stetson miss Friday?
Bryce Young is absolutely a better quarterback, but hyperbolic to say he never misses his mark.

Good yes. Probably. Not real good, though. Had they played in the SEC they would have finished with 3-4 losses, imo.

Bryce definitely misses his mark and makes mistakes. When you bring 5 plus guys at him he is an overall 40% passer. Bama scored a fg right at the end of the game. So if you take away Stetson pick 6 then they have 31. You add us kicking 2 fgs instead of turning it over on downs then that is a 31-30 game going into the last 4 minutes with Bama punting the ball. If the pick in the redzone didn't happen and we kick a fg there, it is 33-31 with us with the ball and under 4 minutes. To think that those 4 turnovers were not huge and didn't cost us the game is naive.
