When Paul Johnson gets canned, GT will be absolutely dreadful for at least a couple years. The longer they stick it out with him, the worse it will be when he leaves.

While their talent level will be laughably bad, the fact that they'll run a real offense will instantly upgrade them.

They're current offense is the only way that their current talent level can win any games, IMO. If they go to a more conventional offense, their advantage of the opponents lack of preparedness will be gone. They won't be able to block anyone or have anyone to make plays, much less a capable QB.

I agree completely. But you gotta peel off the band-aid or you can relegate yourself to a deeper more long term mediocrity than we already are.

Get rid of CPJ, switch back to a more conventional or spread type of offense, burn through the next coach but hope the foundation is laid on the other side for some real progress.

Yep. It'll take time, but GTs got to start the rebuilding process sooner rather than later

I'll take getting our shite pushed in with a conventional office over winning maybe one extra game a year with the option. I am tired of being known as an option football team. It'll be our doom long-term if we don't end the experiment sometime soon and get back to competing by more conventional means. At least with a conventional offense you can hold out hope of landing that rare player/class that helps you make a run.

This whole thing with 1st, Vad & now this stuff is just very strange...

Imma thinking this is gonna be a bad rumor but it's the very last thing GT needs in the press heading up to NSD...

False rumors like that are no more embarrassing than the high school offense that GT runs.
