You are one funny SOB. Super Bowl window, what the hell are you talking about.
We have won one playoff game in the 5 year regime of TD/MS/MR. One rookie QB should have beaten us and the other one did.
Look for a backward slide this year as the OLine continues to suck, Ryan disappears in big games and TD continues to be befuddled by trying to find a pass rush only to be left with his dick in his hand.
Abraham (bad), Grimes (bad) and Turner (good) have played their last game as a Falcon.
Note that WRs don't win Super Bowls.
What do, what do after year 6 with maybe just one playoff win and no trophy???? Stay the course???
to bad coons isn't on here.
retooc, you got anything?

I am not sure, but what is the Falcons current Oline getting paid right now?
I am not even sure on what the Falcons Cap room is looking like either.

Well word is that Turner will be released (or already has been released) so that should free up some cap space.

That will free up a lot of space.
I honestly figured we would just restructure his contract and give him a lot less.

I kinda hope tree falls far enough in the 1st round for the coons to pick him up.

Not exactly draft talk but we will be going after Shon Greene, RB from the Jets. So I guess if we are going after him we won't be going after a RB in the draft, at least early anyway.

I don't like this at all. He just doesn't seem like a great fit for us. I would rather get someone like Reggie Bush who is an absolute homerun threat whenever he touches the ball.
----------------
As far as the Combine/Draft goes:
I want defensive front 7 addressed with the first two picks. I believe that we should trade out of the first round and get an additional 2nd round pick and maybe a 3rd or 4th this year as well. The homer in me REALLY wants us to get Jarvis Jones if possible. He's been medically cleared by the Drs at the Combine, but that still may not be good enough for some teams.
Jarvis has been playing against some of the top players in the country for the past couple of seasons and making plays all over the field. I think he will have a very productive NFL career.
We need to also start finding DE's either via draft or free agency. Abraham isn't getting any younger, and Kroy is more of a situational DE than an every down guy. It seems like DE is the biggest position of failure for this team. Abraham has been our only good DE since Patrick Kerney. The rest of the guys have been busts, or are not starter material.

Most are saying no to that now, a cheaper version of Turner maybe, but they are looking for a bit more. Rightfully so I think.

Watching a little bit of the combine today.
Two linebackers that looked great while watching that won't be a 1st rounder.
John Bostic at ILB and and Washington from UGA.
Really impressed with both so far. Haven't heard much about Washington during his career either at UGA, but was that because he under-performed during his college career or was just over shadowed by Jones and Olgetree?
ETA: looking at Washington's combine stats, he was the top performer his 40 yard dash with a 4.55 and top performer in Bench press with 36 reps.

After watching the combine and senior bowls I think we have a decent read on where guys might go and who we want. My wishes of players to get in the 1st round in order
1. If Ansah is still available somehow then we have to get him, only reason he might fall this far is that he only started 9 games at BYU and is still kind of raw
2. The East Block from SMU. Will be a 26 year old rookie so he is a grown arse man already at 6'8 280 with a 4.6 or 4.7 40 time. He will be a slightly better version of JJ Watt in my opinion. Only been playing football for a couple of years so he is still a little raw but has definite 1st round talent
3. Kevin Minter from LSU. Very very underrated LB who won't turn heads physically but will be a solid playmaker and leader.
If none of these guys are available then maybe the DT from UNC or Corn from UGA would be possibilities but I think one of the above will still be on the board.

Also we are making a push for Jackson at RB and apparently he really likes ATL too so I really doubt we go after a RB unless it is a bit of a project guy later in the draft.

Ansah and Minter will be gone.
Most are projecting Margus Hunt to be a 3rd-4th round pick. Do NOT want him any earlier than that. Has a lot of upside (that word gets GMs fired) but needs a lot of work to reach his full potential (another word that gets GMs fired...see Ryan Leaf, JaMarcus Russell, Vernon Gholston, etc....)

There is a slight chance Minter could still be on the board, most people have him going in the mid 20s to early 30s. If we go after Okafor or somebody in the first and don't get Hunt then I'm going to be rather pissed. A lot of people have us getting either Okafor or the TE from Notre Dame.
Posted on 2/28/13 at 6:18 am to VADawg
Oh and after the combine people are saying Hunt is pretty much a 2nd round lock or late first round, I just looked at about 10 different draft sites that all said that. He blew up the combine, 4.60 40, 38 reps on the bench, pretty good vertical, all of this at 280 pounds. I know we might be reaching a LITTLE, but if we don't get him then, then we probably won't get him at all.

"too big for olb" nonsense...same size as Demarcus Ware...one of the best 3-4 OLB in the NFL...plenty of other OLB's in his size range as well.

the TE from Notre Dame.
I think that would be a huge waist for a 1st round pick.
There are a lot of Defensive players on the board right now that can start their rookie year, and we need as much on D as possible.

Don't want Eifert. Looks like a decent player but all Notre Dame players are generally bumped up a round or two too high in the draft because of where they went to school.
