Reports are starting to come out. Says he almost died and football career is over. Sounds awful and prayers to all involved.

I hate it for him, hope he can recuperate and return to a full life. I would be critical, but having grown up on dirt bikes I'm lucky to have never suffered serious injury myself. I did finally wise up and stop riding because of that risk, but it took a few hard falls to learn that lesson.

It's been hinted at all over message boards. I saw where some of the insiders knew about it 6 weeks ago.

I think he is at Shepard Clinic being treated for either spine or brain injury.

that's terrible. I saw the news and the way the story read you could tell it was a very serious accident. ATVs are so dangerous. prayers for his recovery.

From my son-in-law. Georgia grad 1996. He knows people in the athletic department. He said that is what he heard. Take it or not.

Kirby hinted at it at Media Days. He said Dowdell was in the
"hospital in Atlanta" and that many of his teammates have visited him. I do know the accident was not here but at his home (Picayune, MS) and have heard he was airlifted to Atlanta.
