so is it your position that an injury that happened in Nov 2025 and caused Bobo to be uncertain as a starter in Aug of 2026 was no biggie?

thats certainly a take

I don't even know what you're responding to, man. This might have as well have been posted in Greek or Korean.

Phillips needs to be getting 15 carries a game now minimum with Bowen down for the season even when/if Nate is able to make it back.

He is absolutely electric and a homerun threat everytime he touches the ball. The vision he displayed against bama is also the best of any RB on the team.

I hope we go pass-heavy against Auburn and get our receivers involved and Phillips doesn't get more than 5-7 carries. Regroup for the bye week and be ready to feature Phillips in the next three – Florida, Ole Miss and Missouri.

I agree. Phillips had 18 touches on Saturday and the media beat writer consensus is that we near broke him. And that 2 more months of that would affect his legs in January.

Ideally, our gameplan doesn't change week to week. We call the number for players as they are needed against specific defenses and personnel.
Phillips can be called upon against aggressive defenses that load boxes and fly bodies into the line of scrimmage. His ability to hit quick holes works best against those defenses.

That’s not a bad plan to keep him as healthy as possible, if Phillips goes down we are going to be relying on true freshmen to do things that they most likely are not near ready to carry the load on.

I was just speaking in general. Frazier is a one cut back and he is a great player but Phillips has better vision than him and can make himself get very skinny when moving through the line of scrimmage/point of attack which resulted in him getting into open space against DBs 1v1 against bama and he was able to make the first guy miss more often than not.

Agree to disagree.

Frazier has shown the ability to cut against multiple layers of the defense.

Phillips is the definition of 1 cut and burst upfield. He is decisive and hits the hole extremely hard.
His vision is improving each week with the increased workload. He is impressive.

It's funny that I'm listening to Rollins and Shanks as I am responding to this thread.

Ideally Nate is able to come back and be RB1. I do agree with what I think your main point is, in that he is a better all around running back as of right now and his body is built more to take the hits that you’re going to get running power or off tackle into SEC defensive fronts.

I just think peanut is an incredible weapon that has earned more touches

I think Frazier's our best RB by a considerable margin. I hope he's available by this weekend because defenses have to respect his presence.

I agree.
I dont think it is a secret that 2022 was our most dangerous offense.
Kenny McIntosh was 3rd on the team with 43 catches and 504 yards.

That 3 headed monster (Bowers, mcconkey, and mcintosh) is the same formula as 2019 LSU.
Goal #1 for the offense is being elite running the football in the redzone. That wins championships.
Goal#2 is that triple threat referenced above. That is truly being an elite offense.

PNut is one of those keys for the 2026 season.

call me crazy but after what we saw sturday I hope he doesn't play this weekend. Rib injuries are a bitch and we have a bye week coming up before a tough as hell 3 game stretch. I feel confident in saying we don't need nate to beat auburn. Let him kick his feet up for a copule weeks and get healthy before florida.

Anyone know when/if Canion and Blackshear are expected back?

I don't want him to play if he's not healthy. But if they think his ribs are fine, I'd like to have him back.

blackshear I think I recall was gonna be a little while but don't quote me on that.

Canion is the annual head scratcher we have every year. Got hurt 9/19 and evidently it wasn't very serious. Every week we're told he's close. He's missed 3.5 games and nobody knows what his injury even is or when he'll actaully play again.

It's probably an issue of pain when taking a hit. It can be so excruciating with a broken rib that you can't hold onto the ball. If it were just a matter of playing through the pain, sure, players do that all the time. But when it becomes a turnover liability, sorry kid.

Be happy if they came back before Florida.

Based on how he acted when it 1st happened, I assumed it was a strained hamstring. Never saw any confirmation of that, but those are notoriously fickle to heal.
