This could/should have been a 18-20 win team. So many games we let slip away. Hopefully we retain James, Demary, and Cain. Let’s ride with them and add Asa next year. I’m sure we’ll add transfers. We should be better next year.

James not getting more playing time earlier is odd. His minutes recently might be an effort to keep him around.
This box score makes the TAM game that much more confusing. I guess Aggies just had bigger dudes and better defense, but the 3 barrage all game was weird.
Also the fact that we haven't found a solid 3 point guy that can hit open shots consistently is wild. Haven't had one of those in years it feels like.

Also not great that Todd Golden and UF will be dancing this year and have improved significantly as the year has gone on.
I understand that White left their program in better shape that Crean did at UGA, but still. Lot of the new coaches in the league have a tourney appearance in their first two years. Mike White won't even have a NIT appearance to his name at UGA...

It's way too early to be talking about cannign white IMO. I think the majority of fans beofre the season even started said something liek "it's entirely possible we'll be a better team this year but may not have a better record due to the strength of the league". And lo and behold that's exactly what's happened. We're going to end up with the exact same 16-15 (6-12) record this year than last, but anyone with eyes that's watched all our games can see we are vastly improved. We had multiple arse beatings last year include a 50 point loss to UT while this year we have been in every single game. That's not a moral victory, it's simply pointing out that we have improved. And to me improvement is the #1 thing you want to see from year to year. If we can, fingers crossed, beat a hapless missouri team in the SECT we'll finish wiht a winning record for the first time (non-covid) since 2017, let that sink in.
Idk if White is the long term answer, but I know it's insanity to talk about firing a guy after ~3 seasons and then expectding a better replacment to come in. Nobody is goign to come here knowing that they need an NCAAT appearnce in 3 years or they're gone. IT's not ahppening. i'm content to let White be the bball version of Jim Donnan; a guy that took over a complete garabge factory but turned it around and made it respectable again and got things on track for the next guy to come in and do a little better.

We need realistic expectations for where we are, and the amount of time that it takes to build a consistent program.
We’re significantly better than last year, but we just don’t really know how to win games. IMO, there’s way way too much iso ball down the stretch but I still think overall we’re heading in the right direction.

We are better but it doesn't really matter if everyone else keeps getting better too, right? Ole Miss will be better next year, UF will continue to improve, Texas and OU will be in the league. TENN, Bama, UK aren't going anywhere.
It doesn't take long at all to build a winning team. The Rahim guy from Kennesaw (and UGA) has the USF team in the tourney in his first year. They were awful before this year. no tourney in 3 years should absolutely be grounds for firing in the current bball landscape.

Couple weeks back, I thought we would cover easy at home vs Auburn (I believe that was the Saturday following Laken’s death too). They pushed our shite in. Now we are on the road. Honestly, I think our team has the capability to cover that easily. Will they? Let’s see what defense shows up tonight. Gun to head, I think we cover. I’d probably bet UGA first half and the under.

Losing to Mizzou would be one of the worst losses in program history. I don't even want to consider that happening.

What weasel way to end the season. We do draw a favorable first 2 games… I’m not blown away or impressed with Uf at all. We were a few plays away this year from sweeping them. If UGA can get to 18 wins, they might… maybe… look at us as a “last 4 in” for the NIT. Fingers crossed.
