Borrowed most of this post from some discussion over on 247...I think this is pretty telling as far as the gap between us and a team like Bama- we just don't have elite depth. Hard to believe all of the attrition over the years.

2012 class:
Josh Harvey Clemons
John Taylor
Sheldon Dawson
Blake Tibbs
Ty Flournoy Smith

2013
Tray Matthews
Tramel Terry
Shaq Wiggins
Brendan Langley
Shaq Fluker
Christian Lemay
Josh Cardiello

2014:
J Park
Rico Johnson
Detric Dukes
Shattle Fenteng
Atkinson - TE that never ended up coming
Shaq Jones

Add on multiple players that have never seen any game action, and the roster holes speak for themselves..

Simply put...we HAVE to do a better job in player evaluations and keeping guys on track if we are ever going to make the next step. This is the biggest hole in Richt's tenure IMO. Pruitt and the new staff guys seem to have a good grasp of the situation, but its still early.

Every team has attrition to an extent. Ours has just been brutal because a lot of them were our higher recruited players. 4 out of the top 7 recruits we had in 2013 aren't on the team any more.

But we also have 22 true freshmen playing right now and that does definitely show a lack of depth. Depth that will develop the older these freshmen get and the more they get to play.

Yep. If we stay the course I think things will get better..assuming they can stay out of trouble.

But how many of those are offensive or defensive linemen. We got manhandled in the trenches.

The 2013 class was a complete disaster.

Only a few have left from the lines, but there are some serious recruiting deficiencies there. Especially on the O line. Several players that just haven't panned out.

I actually thought the D line had a decent game on Saturday, too. They aren't supposed to be the main source of a pass rush. That's on our OLB's.

Yea, I saw T Thompson hold his own and make a few plays.
