Maybe I am in the minority, but I don't consider a redshirt sophomore a young player. He could be 21 years old for Christ's sakes. Sometimes, they go pro.

If the article stuck to players on the team 2 years or less... I might have given more thought to the author's point.

Youth is not a number....

Youth is having Juwan Taylor and Natrez Patrick (SRs and JRs) starting because your young ones aren't ready. (Man, what a difference a Mack Wilson would have made for this team and last year's for that matter.)

Yes you can have 4 SRs and 1 FR on paper and look great, but where is your total team talent dispersed? I would argue strongly that our team talent resides mostly in the Sophomore and Freshman classes. We don't have a huge truckload of upperclassmen talent like Bama.

Edit:
Matter of fact, visit here: 24/7 UGA Roster, then sort by player 247 rating score (stars) for shits and giggles. It reads (for those who won't click) FR, FR, FR, FR, JR, SO, JR, FR, FR, SR, SO, FR, FR, SO, FR

I know it's not a perfect science, but that is 2 JR's (Nauta and Hardman) and 1 SR (Godwin) out of 15.

So we are young when our seniors aren’t our best, but start? We will be young when they leave too. Maybe by 2020 we won’t be young anymore. Our best talent is young. That doesn’t make uga 2018 young.
