Their QB Brandon Allen vs SEC competition this year:
Auburn- 58%
TAMU-56%
BAMA-53%
His Average YPA vs SEC is 6.3
Vs SEC, he has 4 passing TD's to two interceptions.
His longest of the season was vs Bama, 54 yards for TD. The pass was only 6 yards (saw highlight on espn)
I haven't given Arky the eye test this year, I haven't seen them play yet, but will probably watch the Bama replay later
But just looking at the stats, he seems to be a less-accurate Hutson Mason.
Now, Arky's running backs look legit on paper, even when you subract their cupcake games this year. Both are 5+ ypc backs vs SEC this year.
Combined, they only have 7 receptions this season. On paper, that seems to limit the threat they pose to us.
Essentially, I see Arky as a one-dimensional team, offensively.
The cliche' "Plug the run and make him beat us in the air" is actually applicable here. Looking at the stats, that seems to be exactly what Bama did.
Problem Bama had was offensive.
Which brings me to subject 2..
Arky Defense.
Hard to tell on paper, must watch some games.
The highlights I've seen make Arky's defense look gullible, easily bite on fakes and overcommit to their zones in the secondary. But then again, highlight plays almost always make the defense look bad, that's what a highlight play is...
Other thoughts?

Yea I've watched a few of their games this year and offensively they don't pass very well but their run game is very legit. Their O-line opens some holes and their backfield is led by Collins who would start for almost any team in the country.
Their D played well against Bama. Wasn't Bama starting a freshman at center after losing their starter in the Ole Miss game? And I think Arkansas lost their top D-lineman late in the game last night. I'll have to go back later and look at both of those but I'm pretty sure they're right.

This is going to be an intriguing game because both teams are very similar offensively. I just hope our team is as dialed in and motivated as they were against Mizzou. I think if we play mentally sharp like we did yesterday (executing our defensive scheme, few penalties, no turnovers, etc.) I think we have a very good chance of leaving Little Rock with a win. Hopefully Mason continues to make good decisions and I expect that MM and JSW will be much more involved in the game plan next week.

I'm worried about their TEs on the PA fake. They have that Henry dude and then another white guy that outran a Bama DB last night for a TD. I hope we don't expect Ramik and Marlo to cover them by one on one.
Bama shut their run game down pretty well...maybe we can take something from that.

pretty damn even minus the defense....they've played a AU and TAM though, so that makes sense. I'll be interested to see the line on this game.

AJ Derby, their 2nd leading receiver this season so far.
6-5 255# and based on that play, fast.
Definitely dangerous.
That play was Allen's longest "pass" of the year that I mentioned in OP.... 6 yard pass with 48 yards after catch on that play.
ETA..... He has less than 200 yards and he's their #2 receiver, that's kinda shitty..... not him but the qb or the OC, that's not a very good number for this point in the season.

Too close to Bryan Allen. He needs to pay dearly.

UGA opens as 3 point favorite and I'm guessing that line is based on Gurley not playing. I think UGA would move to a 6-8 point favorite if he were to play this week. Hope we can get out to an early lead against Arkansas and make them go to the air. Their QB missed a ton of throws against Bama and looks much worse than Mason.

ugh...
needed them to win the bama game. They are still out for their first SEC win.
Looks like a very close game stats wise.

They have a big and effective offensive line. This is my biggest fear as I doubt we'll get to their QB as well as we did against Mizz. This...coupled with a strong running game will create some problems for us defensively.
A week ago I didn't think we could stop anyone...after last weekend its a different story. I like our chances because we have the momentum. Also, I think we will be able to score on these guys too.
Should be a great game...

I think the big win over Mizz was good for our confidence playing on the road, too.

Not official yet..but it looks like Arkansas best defensive player who is a LB (Brooks) is out for UGA...several other key players dinged up pretty good....will we have anyone out other than the obvious...conley is dinged up but played the 2nd half...who else?

Arkansas is going to win. The game is at war memorial, which doesn't happen often so the fans will be fired up. Not too mention this team is hungry for a win. Chubb cannot carry the ball against them like he did vs Missouri, that's not the recipe to win. ARK is a legit team that would be undefeated if they played in the east. Best to go into this game thinking about a loss people

I think we win and cover..unlike throwing teams..i believe we match up well with them

what the frick is the point of even being a georgia fan if you are going into THIS game thinking about a loss?

Being unsure of a win is one thing, but damn, man. Sounds like you've already raised the white flag.

I'm all for people having their own opinions but some people shouldn't share theirs. You would be a good example of that.
