Why no targets vs Auburn?

Ladd came back and we, to my absolute shock, actually shortened the rotation at WR. He had a few snaps but not many.

He will transfer and light the world up somewhere if this keeps up. We need him to take the top off and keep the safeties occupied.

We have at least 5 guys who run better routes, block better, catch better, and can pressure the safeties.

Per other boards: not s good blocker, bad vs zone defenses, bad route runner, doesn't come back to QB in scramble drill.

Speaking of which, I think it was last week when Smith was open after going out from the right deep and cutting left downfield. Beck threw it down the middle and Arian had to adjust back to the right and the ball went over his head. If the ball was on the left hash he catches it going away.

Question…was this Beck not leading his receiver to the left hash or was Beck throwing to the center on a post and Arian overran his angle?

I originally though Beck missed it but at that distance and timing he could’ve been throwing where Arian was supposed to be.

After clutch catches against Tenn and OSU in the semis, I figured the guy would be hell to reckon with this year.

He has great speed, but we also have a lot of good receivers who are more complete players than he is. He needs to work on the other things and get better.

Doesn’t seem like he’s improved much if at all since his COVID freshman year.

He has speed to get open on deep balls and that’s pretty much it.

Still looks like a track star trying to play football imo.

He misses to many blocks. Same issue with the other two transfers.

I know early in the season they tried to get him in the short passing game and he didn’t do bad, but didn’t really break any tackles or find open space to use his wheels. He still has some value to the team. I hope he can improve on the weaker parts of his game so we can capitalize more on his speed.

Arian's blocking has improved greatly.

Unfortunately, the stench of game 1 can linger.

This is just speculation, but all that zone Auburn played took away the chance for deep shots with single coverage, but also allowed Bowers to thrive in the intermediate range.

He's really only good at one thing and that's running deep. He still learning how to actually be a receiver.

He does not block well and that's important part of our offense. He's also is not good at route running. It's obvious when u watch tape.

Why do you care? If something is Red, and you say it red, somebody somewhere will say you’re wrong. It’s called social media

It’s not that I care, it is just odd what the motivation would be.

When Calvin Johnson was being scouted by NFL teams they looked at his blocking ability as well as his receiving ability. That's what made him a #2 overall pick.
