I am not worried. I think UT was keying on Zeus.

I hope the coaches start McIntosh next week. It seems like the staff uses seniority rather than talent dictate who gets the most snaps. Zeus should be used like a fullback and in the 4th quarter to burn up clock. What is the longest run Zeus has had? I can't recall one for more than 20 yards.

On the 3rd and goal and 4th and goal from the 1, White up the middle both times. The right side was wide open both times. White has to see that and bounce. Both times. Race a linebacker to the pylon, you'll win every time the way they were lined up.

I'm going to watch the plays to see if the defense was doing something different with him in the backfield.

He did tweak his knee early. Hopefully that wasn't the issue.

KMac and Milton need to be our featured backs with Z sprinkled in.

They are more dynamic it shows already.

Tenner was keying on him. We ran out of bunch 2 tight sets with Zeus and they'd cheat one or more DBs every single time.

On runs where we checked out of another play and they went to a their base set did much better.

His struggles were more on Monken (and some bad missed blocks).

Also note that there was a good bit of success off play action to Zeus, so in a way it was all part of the plan.

Been worried about Zeus since last season. I voiced my opinion on another site and was crucified for it, but...he has no vision. No cut. No bounce to the outside. Full steam ahead directly into the teeth of the defense. That worked in high school, but it won't work here. McIntosh will surpass him if he continues to operate as he has.

On one of the plays from 1 yard line, he literally began his leap about 2 yards too early and nosedived into the 1 yard line. Surprised there’s not a gif yet.

He will break through soon though

Definitely worried about Zeus, he looks to have regressed somehow.

Major knee injuries will do that.

I was down on him saturday in the stadium but after watching on tv yesterday it wasn't as bad as I thought. The first 2 games this year he looked like a TOTALLY different guy that last year. He has much more wiggle and burst and cutting than we'd ever seen. You don't just lose all that in 6 days. He did struggle saturday especially with vision, but we also had a tendency to mostly run him right up the gut. I'm not worried about him at all but he certainly didn't have his best game. I'm in favor of giving kenny and kendall more time because they've earned it but we don't need to throw zamir in teh trash just yet.

We have had 3 different coordinators in a row that are obsessed with running up the gut out of the shotgun, which is one of the most ineffective plays in modern football. Blows my mind.

That's why I am worried about him. He just didn't carry himself the same. Seemed gassed after each run- lost his swagger. Something seemed off Saturday and I hope he didn't tweak a knee or something like that.

definitely not worried about zeus. Different backs will show out in different games, that's all this is.

You're not thinking tactically, dude. If we keep running it, it starts to mess with the defense's mind. They'll wonder what they're being set up for, and then boom - that play will suddenly work! Well, in theory, at any rate.

You could see him reach for his knee on the fumble recovery opening play.

This was true. What scares me is Monkin continued over and over to run Zeus up the middle. The holes were not there. Not exactly Zeus's fault. His runs up the middle went for the following yardage:

5, 3, 4, 0, 1, 1, 3, -3, 7, 3, 0, 0, 0, 3, 0, 1, 4, 5, 6 and 0. His only two plays not going up the middle was a draw for 9 and a pitch out to the right side for -2.

By the way, we ran a total of 4 plays around the left side and had gains of 13, 43, 10 and 10.
