it’s as if we have fallen off a cliff in recruiting cache. The coaching, development, winning, nfl pitches don’t seem to be landing like they once did.

Define "fallen off a cliff". NIL is driving parity and it's harder now for 1 to 3 programs to hoard elite blue chips like before. Used to be composite class recruiting scores saw huge gaps from #1 class to #10 class but not anymore. Now there is barely a difference between the top 5 schools in terms of recruiting composite scores. There's also plenty of time remaining.

IU proved last year a team of 25+ year old veteran 0 to 3-star but disciplined players could crush younger more talented teams. So retention is becoming extremely important. Kirby is doing a great job of that.

I'm not contributing any money, because I think it's kind of bullshite now. But are we just stacking up 3 stars now? Glad I got to see a Natty in person before all this bullshite

What is Yech doing that we aren’t? They are stacking 4* OL and DL, while we are settling for 3*. Out recruiting is getting super lazy when the nerds are out recruiting us right now

It’s a little redundant but do we still feel good about June lol.

Exactly. This in theory is when we get hot and make our recruiting run. I am not sure one is coming.

I don't see it either. This ain't 2017 or even 2023. 368 of the top 400 in the composite rankings have already committed. Don't look like the old "be patient, our recruiting will get way better" model works anymore.

This is an interesting pivot point in Kirby's tenure at Georgia for sure.

Indiana wasn't the only team using this approach. Many others tried the same shite last year. There has to be way more to their success than that.

Agreed.

Until the rules of NIL change or we get our own version of Mark Cuban, I feel this year is Kirby's last chance at a natty for a while.

He's still the best recruiter in football, but this feels like things are trending to a rebuilding type program vs. a reloading program.

Did Indiana outspend Georgia on its payroll last year? I don't know, which is why I'm asking.

I have no idea, which is a bad assumption on my part.

I just assumed they did with all the hoopla surrounding Cuban. I would be surprised if they didn't atleast for the transfer portal.

They are out recruiting us? I checked and they are ranked #24 with 26 recruits and we are ranked #17 with 17 recruits.

It's awfully early and a lot will change between now and signing day. Some recruits rankings will move up when their senior year starts. Maybe people should sit back and wait instead of hitting the panic button in June.
