Totally get it but it’s a long time to have found a defensive strategy on this too.
Take Kemon out now and the wheels are off and we are falling off a cliff recruiting wise.
Lots of *** people leveraging us too. We have become a chip more than a destination

Kirby’s practice of a pay scale based on class is going to be absurd when our highest paid players are senior 2 and 3 stars.

All hell broke loose with NIL after the 2023 season. Since that time we've finished 1st, 2nd and 6th in the composite rankings.
This year's class was definitely Kirby's most underwhelming class, but your prediction of us turning into Wake Forest or Central Florida in recruiting might be a tad bit irrational.
The fact that we only lost 5 or 6 players from last year's two-deep roster lets you know that Georgia isn't cheap.

We broke, boys. The games changed. I'm sure NFL lite will get a salary cap eventually. Until then just ignore recruiting
You think other teams weren't promising crazy amounts of money to players like Bolden and Ellis Robinson and Demello Jones and Gaston and Glover and all our linebackers??

He had a longer offer list than that... We beat out Indiana for him too.

Not sure why they would use that picture to announce his commitment. Both Kirby and Temorris look like they're seeing someone get murdered right behind the photographer.

Taking the easy/cheap route to recruiting. Get the players no other serious program wanted. At least we have more money than UCF and Tech.

I get the idea of paying more money to keep last year's starters. But, what's the gameplan in 2 years when they've moved on? I trust Kirby knows what he's doing better than any of us.

I won’t lie. I sort of thought the paying, portal, etc was going to have been corralled a little bit by now. I think Kirby originally did too and that his system would outlast this phase of cfb but I wonder if he ever considers the hard pivot. Assuming we even could open it up a little more. It’s definitely not good business or sustainable though

The good guys offered 2028 3* (On3) WR Isaiah Brown out of my son's school - Effingham Co HS. 6'4", 190.
Watched every game he played. Pretty damn fast although I can't find his times. Great hands and catch radius.

If Kirby has a down year or 2 maybe he’ll change. He continues to want to pay players to stay but once that barrel is full of “so so” players like someone said earlier, it’s not gonna be pretty. Hopefully he knows something we don't about NIL and things will get better. Right now, the game is not the same for Kirby and it feels like Dabo 2.0

And "commitments" are always ironclad.

Can't beat out Va Tech for a QB? Damn
Not saying Kirby didn't want him, but is this guy really any better than what is on the roster now?
If Kirby thinks the future is on the roster already, he's not going to outbid others for a scout team QB.

Maybe I'm a simp or a true believer or whatever, but I can't believe Kirby in year 11 is just incapable of pulling good football players. It's a new era, a new paradigm, and we're not gonna stack players like we used to, but I think we're gonna be all right with our current guy.
It's May and they transfer all over the place year over year. Who cares about class rankings these days? It's not the same thing.

The answer to this question is a resounding NO. This kid had a long standing relationship with Franklin. That’s why he’s at VT.
This class may not have a QB and it very well may be intentional. They have Wade locked down in class of ‘28 and they do not want to run him off with signing another top prospect in ‘27.

Haven't heard or read anything lately, but when Wade committed there was some chatter about him reclassifying to '27.

Maybe he's keeping the talent he has right now and will shift to buying NIL talent when this current group of players has moved on?
