Bring in Aoki to junk ball um into submission.

I could see them going with an opener first time through the order and then bring in Aoki second time through to mess with their approach. Probably safer to just go with Aoki to start though.

I'm slightly torn. Obviously aoki is better than vigue and gives us the best chance to win, so it sounds crazy to do anythign other than try your best to win the next game. I'm looking at the bracket though and somethign occurred to me. Let's say that we beat OU regardless of vigue/aoki starting. Let's also assume that it's a "normal" outing of roughly 6 innings and roughly 80 pitches, just a standard outing that results in a win.
Our next game would then be on Wednesday. Volchko and whoever throws tomorrow are not going to be available. I think it's a safe bet that Texas is better than both bama and OU so we're likely facing htem again on Wednesday. The farther along in the week we get, the better chance there is we see volantis again which nobody wants. I know it's playing with fire but I'd almost rather see what vigue can do against OU wiht a very short leash then save aoki for Wednesday to eliminate texas for good. Although now that I'm thinking about it, it does sound crazy to try to get all advanced like that since it's omaha...so yeah I guess just throw aoki. Even if we do face TExas again on wednesday and bad-vigue shows up, we'd still get a 3rd crack at them again on Thursday. No clue who we'd throw then but a bullpen game wiht the season on the line doesn't sound fun. Let's hope we don't have to find out!

We gotta pull for Alabama over Texas

Dash says Aoki starting tomorrow.

absolutely. I hate bama much worse so would ordinarily pull against them in general, but any of my rooting interests always boil down to "what is best for UGA?" and in this case I'd MUCH rather face a mediocre bama than an elite texas. Don't let last night cloud the memory banks too much; texas is absolutely an elite team that has been in the top 5 all season and finished right behind us in the league standings. The sooner they go away the better.

What would suck worse would be not having Volchko or Aoki with the season on the line on Tuesday.
It’s full blown roll with the punches mode in Omaha

Texas isn't going to shite the bed like they did in the first and we aren't we aren't going to have a Greg Maddux like performance, either.

Right. Saturday was a perfect confluence of extremely rare things that are absolutley not happening again. Not to say we can't beat them, but they are going to gift us multiple runs from their catcher having the yips and we damn sure aren't getting a 15K complete game. I said going into the tourney texas was the only team that really worried me and that still holds true. Based on what I've seen we are clearly better than every other team left. The quicker Texas exits the better I'll feel.

OU is a hot team right now. They won two straight elimination games at Tech, demolished Kansas twice in Lawrence, and demolished Alabama on Saturday. We have to use our best options to win today and worry about the next game later.

Getting hot late is a powerful thing, but I just can't shake off the fact that they had a losing record in conference play. We finished nearly 10 games ahead of them over the course of the season which is insane. They were swept by texas and lost most of the series they played against non-bottom dwellers. They lost multiple games to LSU.
Then out of nowhere they win tech's regional. I don't really put a ton of stock into winning the supers against the 15 seed, or in winning 1 game against a team that hasn't scored a run in omaha this century.
They are one of the hottest teams in the tourney, but you know who's hotter? Us. We've won 9 consecutive games and are 20-1 dating back to April 25th.

Statistically, we should crush them.

Whose the home team tonight?
Posted on 6/15/26 at 6:06 pm to ParkRanger
Ok is. Same rationale as regionals and supers.

I actually know this starting pitcher for OU. Great kid, but I hope he has a bad night

Shadows around home plate look brutal.
