Top players at most of the position of need are going elsewhere… Lack of 5 stars. Good ole do it the Richt way recruiting. Not terrible but not elite either.

Kirby is the best in the “business” and we’re lucky to have him. Recruiting ain’t what it used to be because Kirby has chosen not to play the NIL/highest bidder game. He’s choosing good players with good measurables with the right mental makeup to go out and play their hardest for UGA, betting he and his staff can coach them up to compete for a NC. I hate what NIL has done/is doing to college football. I support CKS’s approach. I’d rather win with the guys he’s choosing than win with guys that require the most $$$. If there’s one thing every UGA fan should agree on, Kirby has earned the right to be trusted.

I’m not discounting any of that nor saying recruiting is bad. You just said yourself, recruiting ain’t what it used to be.

Supposedly Delp turned down a lot of transfer requests including a $12.5 mil offer. Top money schools are Ohio State, Bama, and UF.

12.5 mil for a TE that hasn’t lived up to expectations and only has 1 year left seems illegitimate. I mean Lanorris Sellars claims he got offered 4 mil to leave South Carolina. That sounds more believable.

We were leading heading into the weekend. My guess is USCjr upped their offer last night and Kirby probably matched it or upped it a bit this afternoon.

Ummmmm… good players. Look to be “coachable players” but are they ELITE? Not sure if any of these guys would classify as a day 1 starter. That’s the point you’re missing. We still haven’t gotten the elite’s. Again, these are good players and their rankings will probably improve but look at the 21 class or the 22 classes and get back to me. Maybe we end up with a ton if top 100 guys by the end of this process but our overall player ratings is still around 4th-5th. UGA has generally been 1-3.

Scrolling down team rankings it seems that no team has more than two five star commits at this point. They will all eventually commit somewhere but will they stay committed?
