We're apparently in the running for Walker Lyons (#5 overall TE) as well. The catch is that he is going on a mission and won't be on campus until next year but it'll be unheard of to sign 4 of the top 7 TEs in one class.

UGA gained some points in their total +1 with 247's most recent update

Updated 247 Composite, Dawgs now have five 5*s with 11 total top 100 recruits. If we get Duce next week that would be six 5*s with twelve top 100 recruits.

Alabama has 9 and only have us beat by 10 points. It’s clear who the top 2 are vs the pack.

The 5* are Damon Wilson, Raylen Wilson, Monroe Freeling, Joenel Aguero, and Jordan Hall FYI.

AJ Harris should have kept his fifth star. If we add Duce, this class is just a hair behind Alabama's.

I think Bama has 2 highly rated QB's in their class and we have none. We also have a kicker in ours. That would be the difference in the two classes.

Bama has a kicker too. One thing that jumped out at me is they only have one IOL and one LB in this class

Pretty sure they picked up Trezman Marshall from us through the portal. Would also think some of those Edge guys will be LBs, too.

Very real possibility. We have another wave of really good players coming up, and Alabama simply has not looked as physical as they did in their bigger years.
It will be interesting to see who they pick up as DC, though. That will play a large role in it.

I didn't realize they had a kicker n their class. They haven't recruited either LOS very well recently. This years DL class looks good for them though.

Duce (#1 TE for 2023) and Ellis Robinson (#1 CB for 2024) are both announcing Wednesday (NSD). Dawgs considered favorites for both. Also hve top 5 TE Walker Lyons who is class of 2023 but is going on his Mormon mission after HS so really is more of a reclass to 2024
