Out of curiosity....are you guessing that players are leaving, or are these the years they are seniors? (Yes, I am too lazy to look it all up myself. )

Dean is a stud. I presume he is leaving early.
Cine is a stud. I presume he is leaving early.
Both of those go after 2021

I put nolan smith in the leaving early camp. He isnt a stud. But #1 recruit in the country who will he given the reigns to flash in 2021 without Ojulari and johnson ahead of him. It is a reach. But roster management is to prepare for those departures.

Stevenson is a stud, but he is admittedly a niche player. As a nickel defender, 3 years splitting starts and I can see him leaving. If we decide to work him at safety, I can see him come back for a 4th year.

I expect Pickens gone after 3. Blaylock could go (we have a history of receivers jettisoning after 3 years. Nauta, hardman, ridley, wims). Smart hasnt been here that long to have so many guys go early at the position.

Everyone else is after 4 years (webb, smith, ojulari, anderson, beal/grant, quay walker, tindall).

My disappointment is the lack of recruiting safeties (only 2 signed in the past 3 recruiting cycles. And that is with early departures in Gibbs, Reese, divaad wilson)

Only 2 HS OLB for both the 2019 and 2020 class (assuming rian davis is still ILB).

No ILB for the 2020 class

According to hints on another site several of the guys he mentioned may be leaving this year via the portal. Not happy with playing time, scheme, etc.

No real work. Just emptying my thoughts. And I have no insider connections. Just a hunch based upon what 20-22 year olds may decide to do from previous 20-22 year olds.

We do an excellent job recruiting. But it never hurts as a fan to read the tea leaves looking for potential vulnerabilities (kind of like replacing a 330 pound NT which I didnt put on the list of concerns because I'm guessing that we may go a different direction)

There have been linebacker rumors about tindall, quay walker, and adam anderson.

Tindall is the only one probably not going to start. But we rotate so much... I cant see that being a huge reason to quit the team. But that is from my eyes.

Edit to add that I am not on that other site. But those types of rumors float. My 2nd hand may have the info wrong though

I thought Tindall was lighting it up in mop up duty and was afraid he might decide to leave, but he got some pretty decent time the last game or two.

Anderson should be huge next year. I can't imagine kids leaving with only one year remaining, though. I would think with losses all three would be getting huge amounts of time next year.

AA19, NS4, GP1 are 3 that are rumored to be not happy. Several OL know they’ve been recruited over as well as a few more WR. We could get hit very hard in the portal at the end of the year. However, the source says we’ll be fine, don’t be distracted by these moves. He’s been pretty spot on up to this point so I trust his info.

I surprise myself sometimes. Lol

I panic a little when I see a class with 1 OLB or 0 safeties.
I panic a little when i see transfers but no noticeable replacements for top talent that departed (i.e. reese).

Our 2017 WR class got us in a bit of a pickle last season.
Losing Reese from the 2018 class and only effectively netting 3 S from the past 4 classes has us in a bit of a pickle now and next year (most of our backups are converted CBs from high school).
Losing ford at TE from 2018 class and not recruiting a TE in 2017 had us in a bit of a pickle (and needing 2 grad transfer TEs in consecutive classes).

These arent problems that cant be solved in the portal. But the portal eats up the initial counter numbers and just necessitates needing more transfers until the recruiting hits a home run (i.e. darnell washington)

AA19, NS4

They are both starters next season.
I understand the grief about playing 3 DL in an even front.
But I'd guess that we have 2 OLBs on the field in just under 50% of our snaps this season. Playing 2 OLBs in more snaps makes us Florida defensively (I dont think we want to return to the Todd grantham defenses).

I'm sure hes fine with the new QB

As for OL, Webb is the only one that would be a question mark for me. And hes been injured more than he has been healthy.
Who else has an argument for being recruited over? The depth chart pretty much aligns with tenure (sophomores as 2nd string and freshmen as third string)

AA19

If anyone on defense has a right to be complaining, it's probably this guy... He's not flawless, but damn if he doesn't make plays when he gets chances. Kirby's absolutely dogged focus on gap discipline really ends up hindering the "highlights" and stats for some of these players. I think there is a world where we let the dawgs loose a bit more like we saw this past weekend, and if we do, AA should be getting more looks. I'm with several others though that leaving in what amounts to what should be his last year feels like a mistake. The coaching staff needs to find a way to get through there somehow and affirm that they'll be looking to get him more time (JJ will be gone almost assuredly, depending on how the rest of that position shakes out, he should be #2 or #3 option and get plenty of snaps in 21.

NS4

Other than frustration at the *way* he's being utilized, I don't get this. He's had a very big role, and frankly while doing a *good* job, hasn't been some unstoppable force either. Some of that stems from what was mentioned above... Kirby/Lanning so focused on not letting us lose to big plays that they hamper some of the productivity of the star players on our roster that can terrorize QBs. My gut here says that if Kirby and Co show a little more of a varied look and more opportunities to pin back their ears and get after the QB from the OLB position on occasion, that NS4 isn't going anywhere.

GP1

I won't be surprised no matter how this shakes out. The kid is immensely talented, and also a bit of a head case. We're targeting some transfer WR options of our own and have done quite well recruiting the position. JT showed that he has the ability to get it to the WRs and let them make plays. George is clearly going to be one of the 2 best options on the outside if he stays. If he doesn't, then we're going to need to find another viable option, because I don't think Burton will be able to have his current level of success if he's drawing coverage from the top DB and/or double coverage consistently.

Ultimately, we'll likely lose more between the portal, graduation, and draft than we're able to replace body wise... but we're at least in a position that we should be able to weather those losses so long as they don't pile up at several key positions.

Starters maybe, but their talents aren’t being used effectively to get them paid at the next level. Gap control pass rush versus pin your ears back and go get the QB pass rush. All of our DT’s and OLB’s are struggling with this. Travon Walker comes to mind. His talent isn’t being used correctly.

Maybe GP1 has a change of heart after 3-4 games with JTD. We’ll see. He’s not the only receiver unhappy.

OL next year probably looks something like this: Jones, Salyer, SVP, Erickson, McClendon. That leaves Webb, Condon, Ratledge and others out of the mix. And technically, our entire OL from this year could return. We’ve over recruited OL for like 3 years now. Can’t keep all those guys happy.

I should’ve read Fibs response before typing mine. Our heads are in the same place.

Nolan Smith has next to no reason to be upset. He has played a huge role in our defense.

I think JT alluded to this point about George when he said something about how we recruit great receivers but we don't use them.

Needless to say, it would be silly for either of them to leave. I think our offense will be more interesting next year for George to thrive. Smith can suck it up

This is going to be a weird transfer offseason because (if I recall correctly) the NCAA due to COVID is going to allow all transfers one-time immediate eligibility.

As others have said, I'm sure we'll see a couple OL transfer, same with WR and maybe ILB too.

I don't think Pickens transfers. Same for Nolan Smith. Idk about everyone else.

Looks like Meansonny and Fibinocci has given much shorter and much better responses that reflect what I think.

Yeah, and I think we kind of got caught at safety. We thought we would get James Williams and Terrion Arnold. I mean we could still get Arnold, but it's not looking quite as likely now.

Reese is an interesting one. I think Ole Miss is playing him as a LB? (I might be wrong) He was (imo) a little light for a LB, and looked more like a safety, to me.

I get your concerns. Kirby seems to have a pretty good feel for things, though, and we have a ton of talented players right now. A couple of our CBs have been moved up to safety, too.

With todays environment of the portal and entitlement I am glad my job doesn't depend on recruiting those kids. There's a ton of moving parts. It was a lot easier just a few years ago.

Would still love to see Tyson at safety. He was better there in HS. Great size. Better in zone than man. Good in space - both in coverage and tacklng. More physical than he is fast.

Seems like the right place.
