I am not a doctor so assuming you are you are probably right. I know there is a big difference in open brain surgery versus drilling a small hole to scope a cyst. I always assumed from what I read that he had a small hole and scoped the cyst. I would think you could play again after that but obviously not after open brain surgery. Risk of infection is always a huge risk so I would expect antibiotics for either.
Feel free to correct me Doc.

And just like that. With signing day over we're back to off season talk in this thread.

Where can I listen to Donnan saying all of this?
UGASports Live Podcast. They are on YouTube or any podcast platform. He said this within the past month. So probably within the past 2 episodes where they are at a restaurant.

Okay. I get what y'all are saying, and I am not in that particular conversation....but what do you want to know? We have signed 19 players and think we have unreported signatures from Washington, Ringo and Evans bringing us to 22. Americus said we MIGHT take more than the previously thought 23.
We need a TE, QB and maybe a DT type players.
This has already been said. Should we shut the thread down until February?
No offense but typically the people that complain the loudest about extra conversations are the ones that never bring fresh information themselves. (Not directed at either you or Porter, as I like you both and think you are good posters)
There just isn't any new information out there right now. Maybe it will change soon. Maybe not.

There will be a lot to talk about between now and Jan 4th. Why not just keep it about recruiting

Wanted to make a few notes about the medical issue.
First, antibiotics usually cannot cross the blood brain barrier.
Second, that sounds right about drilling a small hole vs open brain surgery. The bone needs a good 3-6 months in order to repair itself as much as it is possible, but it will never have quite the same strength as an uninjured bone. Which is why he would not play again if he had surgery over half his skull, however if this truth was that it is just for a micro procedure, I don't see how he could not play again given enough time to recover and a customized helmet.

Okay. Feel free to add all the recruiting news you have.
Like I said, I got in another conversation several pages back but quit responding because it was not about recruiting. But when people start complaining when we are in a dead period and there simply isn't anything new to report is just seems silly.
Do you have any new news on recruiting? If not then we should just shut the thread down. There simply is no new news and probably won't be until after the bowl season. Coaches are concentrating on the bowls right now.
ETA
That said an extended off topic conversation about medical procedures probably should be put into a different thread.

Based on LOIs and what we brought in 2019, we need TE and interior linemen (OG).
We are also short on RB and QB.
We took 5 on the DL last season but are losing the numbers after this season (3 signed already for 2020 should be OK).

Got two young TE’s. I’d like to see an experienced transfer or grad transfer added at this spot.
Do you guys think a tackle could move inside like Condon or McClendon?

We have 3 young tight ends counting fitzpatricks redshirt. But we lost 2 tight ends last season and 2 more this year. We lack class separation (no juniors, seniors, or 5th yr players in 2020).

I have no clue.
We signed 2 tackles last year (Truss/McClendon) and Condon as C.
This year, we have 4 tackles (Rutledge, Lindberg, Blaske, and Willock) with another potential in Jones. This goes along with Van Pran at C potentially.
For OL, you always need to be a year ahead of what you lose. After 2020, we will lose Cleveland, Kindley, and probably Mays, and Shaffer.
Common sense says that playing time will be available for 2021.

Could easily see Willock moving to Guard.
