Can add 4* WR Makiya Tongue to the target list.
Our most recent commit, Travon Walker, also looks like he's now making the trip. Sucks we couldn't get Smith or Haselwood there.

Last guy i think we are both legit going after is Cam Smith, he was on campus here yesterday with his family. He grew up a Carolina fan and has tries to mold himself after Stephon Gilmore. He and family just moved back to SC from Maryland this summer. All reports are the visit went very well and he still plans to announce on Aug 17 after his home opener. This will likely come down to SC and UGA with UT trying to get in but they are a distant third with SC in the lead. Here us his jr film from in Maryland for those who havent seen it LINK

Cam Smith is a dude and doesn’t get the recognition he deserves. I’d love for the Dawgs to pull another player from the Columbia area, but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. He’s going to be a damn good DB.

I agree but this time last year i felt good on Tindall too, so not getting hopes up.

Its just hard to bet against Kirby and staff when they want someone. Boom is good thought and he should be able to seal the deal with him committing this early

some interesting snippets from LG1 on the 247 board that I saw shared elsewhere (not quite Americus level of accuracy, but generally has been right a LOT since Kirby came on board):
quote:
Im hearing that our DB board has 3 guys slightly ahead of Daniels and our staff has told 2 of those guys that now is time to pop if they want to be a DAWG.
The top guy basically has a slot that will be saved for him as we continue to work him.
So we will be hearing news very soon on the DB slots over the next 10 days.
This is what I’m hearing our DB board looks like for the remaining slots
1 Booth
2a Elam
2a Stevenson
2b Daniels
3 C. Smith
Things can change as they often do, if Daniels was a 4 yr guy he would be right with Booth on our board. They love him and his abilities but when the players are close in ability, paired with the talent already on the team then we give favor to the 4 yr guys first. But we will not wait long for them to pop. Power Move
Go Dawgs
quote:
One for sure but looking like two. A third is close and could pop as well. We will be happy Monday.
Give Guna his due here as We are set up very nicely to do exactly what Guna is saying. I am also hearing that a NICE 2020 guy is very close to popping this weekend.
Go Dawgs

Agreed, still feel very good on Cam Smith, if we fail to pull him something needs to change

Mike, from everything I've heard we aren't recruiting C. Smith very hard at this point and his offer isn't commitable for now and likely wouldn't be unless we missed on multiple targets at his position, which is VERY unlikely in my opinion.
I think you guys will get him and that there isn't much to worry about in terms of us turning up the heat late in the cycle.

I like his game from what I've seen (haven't watched all of his film like our other targets).
Not meant as a slight in any way, but our positional recruiting is just in a different place right now. We have slow played/turned away/not recruited lots of elite kids in the last three years that were undconditional takes at any schools not named Alabama, UGA, Ohio State.

I'm right there with you. He might end up being very good. But spending that much time on a high who appears to be a heavy SC lean, when there's a better chance for us to land 2 top 10 CBs is a little silly to me.

Exactly. You keep the iron in the fire, but can't let him be a resource sink at the expense of guys who have a much higher chance to pick you that you think are of similar talent levels.
