Brookwood is where all of the "permissive transfers" are going- but that is done before 9th grade. May be a year or two away, but they'll be the next gwinnett football power imo.

That's what I've heard as well, but the county is just rediculous. Now you've got relatively new schools like Mountain View and Lanier becoming forces as well.

By the way, the 7A basketball title was between Norcross and Meadowcreek who are I think all of 7 miles apart

DawgNation looks at the myth that Grayson HS (Watson) steers players away from UGA

This surprised me from Watson, however:

quote:

“He did what was the best for him based on the roster,” Watson Sr. said. “That’s what he chose. He chose Auburn. Now I’ll say this and this is just my opinion. I could be wrong. You can print it. You can not print it. Whatever. I still feel like Owen Pappoe ends up at Georgia. That’s my opinion. I could be wrong. I could really be wrong. It is something inside of me. This is me. Nobody told me this. I still think he is fifty-fifty. I just think right now he chose Auburn and I could be wrong. He could be 1,000 percent committed to Auburn and he ends up signing with them in December. That’s my opinion.”

Chris Barnes is transferring, so I don't know what that does to the numbers.

Does that mean Walthour doesn't have to grayshirt, or does that include his grayshirt?

AU is not losing 4 games with that defense and their QB being back. I just don't see it. I could see them losing 2 or 3 at best but I fully expect them to be a tough out for everyteam. They had a lot back from a stout defense.

I could easily see them losing 4 games.

They lost:
4/5 starting Olinemen.
Top 2 RB's (Kam Pettway and Kerryon Johnson) with no returning RB with any meaningful carries.
Their top pass rusher (Holland)
Their best LB (Tre Williams)
Their two best DB's (Carlton Davis and Tray Matthews)

They did pick up an excellent RB last signing period (Asa Martin) but I don't think he will be on campus until June. Their top 2 RB's right now (Kam Martin and Devin Barrett) both weigh less than 180 LBs, which is less than ideal for the SEC.

Stidham just had shoulder surgery, too.

Don't get me wrong. They always seem to come out strong, but they have averaged 5 losses a year since 2013, so yes....I can see them losing 4 games this year. They also have Alabama, Georgia, Washington and Mississippi State away or at a neutral site.

If they go 9-3 they should count it as a successful year.

Is Stidham going to pass it to himself?

I can see Auburn potentially losing to Washington, MSU, LSU, Bama and UGA. Five losses worst case and three losses best case.

Auburn's recruiting would mean that they failed miserably if they lose 5 games. No way that front 7 should lose 5 games.

Auburn lost 4 last year with a lot more talent and experience than they have now. I don't know about 5 games but I can see them duplicating last year's record.

They had a lot of that same front 7 last year and lost 4.

They also lost 2 games early (including the first game against the #1 team and held them to 2 scores) and beat UGA and Bama (2 teams playing for the NC) with that front 7 that all come back after another year of workouts, spring practice and summer practice....They have a top 3-5 Defensive front. They lost to us in the SECCG when they were beat up and worn. Then a who cares Bowl game. You act like they lost 4 shite games in the middle of their season.

Because people are butt hurt that OP committed to auburn and acting like they don’t have a top 3 D-front. It’s recruiting oriented. Care to bring another conversation up relevant to UGA recruiting?

As stated before they lost 4/5 off the Oline. The games Auburn lost, Stidham got unrattled af. Their Front 7 is talented but they have no depth. Its going to be worse for them this year because of the loses on offense. The defense won't hold up if the offense can't keep them off the field.
Stidham's stats in the 4 loses:
Clemson 13/24 for 79 yards 8.4 QBR (YIKES!)
LSU 9/26(YIKES!) 165 yards and 1 TD 19.5 QBR(YIKES!)
Dawgs 16/32 145 yards and 1 TD(TD on their first drive) 35.5 QBR
UCF 28/43 331 1 TD 2 INTs 31.2 QBR

Auburn can have fun with OP. He'll likely be their highest recruit if he sticks around, but they'll end up with a class in the 8-12 range. I much rather not have OP and have a class in the 1-3 range.

Easy now, you will get scolded just for not pumping the constant sunshine nonsense around here. I don’t see him sticking there but that doesn’t mean he ends up at UGA either. I’d rather us chase Dean or Smith down anyway.

I've stated this before 5 star Travon Walker is the biggest need for the dawgs this cycle, it would not surprise me if Kirby signs 6 D-linemen this cycle. On the other dawg page the man with the plan has Walker as a silent commit. Travon may just develop into a Julius Peppers type prospect, it looks like Kirby is going after the 5 star CB Andrew Booth very hard also and it would not surprise me if he pulled him from Clemson's grip.
