Sounds to me like he is sore because nobody at UGA listens to him.

He's pretty outspoken in his belief that kids should go away to college for a different experience. His public reasoning for that is that they can always move back to Atlanta, but he's a slimeball so there's likely more to it than that. It's not like Auburn, Knoxville, Tuscaloosa, and Columbia are a huge leap culturally.
ETA: To be fair, it looks like his kid is likely going to Texas, which will actually be a different experience.

I agree with your assessment. Walks like a UGA hater. Quacks like a UGA hater. He’s a UGA hater.

Man that video is a quick way to kill brain cells. Its hilarious how adamant he is about UGA's so-called terrible recruiting, and we wind up with the #1 class by a mile

How is it silly? Because you disagree? Even our National Analyst on 247 pointed to Cox as an eerily similar recruitment. Go eat a bag of dicks

Because what led to Cox picking OSU differs wildly from what led to Pappoe picking AU. Everything that convinced Cox to eventually pick UGA already exists for Pappoe.

You sound like you have intel on Cox. Please share.
What I learned from 247 is Cox initially wanted to play DE in a 4-3. He was sold on playing with his hand in the dirt. Also, Ohio State was selling him on immediate playing time. If you think UGA being successful last season was the only turning point, then I can’t help you.

We haven't missed out on a recruit in so long we forgot what it feels like.

He fell victim to very good negative recruiting by Urban Meyer about proven championship caliber football and proven NFL development. Before 2017, UGA wasn't exactly proven with either, especially compared to a power like Ohio State, so it was easy to buy in for Cox. Once those issues were fixed, and he was faced with moving up to Ohio, staying home made much more sense.

Any knowledge if Gibbs' issues hurt us at all with the Grayson players?
I believe we've struggled recruiting there for a while, I just didn't know if those issues get pointed out to the recruits at Grayson.

I don't know, but why would Grayson players/coaches blame UGA or Smart for that. His problems are of his own making.

For a long time, I've heard rumors that the grayson coaches do not think Athens is a good environment for their players. Who knows what that means (too much fun. Too aggressive law enforcement. Too nosy media. Not a protective enough administration).

Sounds like Grayson coaches coming up with convenient excuses

No surprise, OP to day barn...

Good luck to him. I feel it’s not over... but, there are more recruits out there.

He just wants to be like some of the other UGA linebacking greats in recent memory and commit somewhere else first.

It's beyond me why kids even consider Auburn. Podunk town, average degree and etc. I just have no idea what Auburn offers that a better school with a stronger degree could do. Even if committed to Vandy, it would make sense to me but Auburn? They don't excel at either football or academics.

Easier route to playing time would be my first thought. We still have three guys coming that could lock a spot down for the next few years.
