Comes from same HS as Rodney Anderson - Oklahoma RB. Interesting.

I didn't realize thta. Looks to be a big kid. As a sophomore he is 5"11" and 190. By the time he graduates he could be 6" 210 or so with lots of muscle.

I love big backs that are hard to bring down like Chubb, although I gained a new appreciation for backs that can squeeze through smaller holes and explode like Michel.

Michel really showed out this year.

Sony is about 6’, 220 lbs. He is not a small back.

Sony added a ton of bulk during his 4 years in Athens. He is going to make NFL scouts drool at the combine. It wouldn’t shock me to see him sneak in as a late first round pick

I could see Sony being a bigger, more physical Tiki Barber type back. He will be very useful in today’s NFL.

Wish Chubb had never been hurt, and hope he really gets back to 100% So. season Chubb so he can have a good NFL career.

Not as much as people seem to think...

He was about 205 coming out of HS... adding less than 10% body weight on his frame is not a "ton" when considering a college S&C program. For whatever reason though, many people saw him as this small complementary back...

The Chubb I saw last year was at 100% He got hit in the backfield a lot. He and Michel had different play calling. Chubb gonna do well in the NFL

I didn't say he was. I said he could squeeze through smaller holes. I saw him get through holes when i thought they had him stopped. I knew he was somewhere around 220. I was thinking 215, but close enough.
ETA
I should say it might have been my perception that he was squeezing through smaller holes, but particularly against Oklahoma and a couple of other games he seemed to squirt out of the pile a lot.

I know, and I know you have a pretty strong football knowledge as well. It was really just the comparison you made about the OU back and Chubb's size and I was noting how the size you referenced was smaller than Chubb.

Michel always gets the lightning to Chubb's thunder references, but as most of us who watched him play know, he can absolutely bring the wood as well.

Sorry for distracting from the 2019 thread though. I'm sure things will start to pick up in the next few weeks. Exciting to potentially have 4 of the top 10 guys soon enough.

He may not of added a ton of weight, but his body composition did change a great deal. Look at pics when he enrolled and look at pics from his senior year. The muscle definition in arms is impressive. I think he did a helluva job in the SandC program.

Speaking of RBs, who are we targeting in '19?

I will admit that I am old school, but I am a fan of bringing in a QB and HB every class. That being said, who are top targets in 2019 in this position group. We need a JUCO or Big time prospect with Big John graduating.

It’s obvious that Pappoe is a UGA lean if we didn’t already know that.

Sounds like it. I am already getting tired if Tennessee though. I want these 19 5 Star kids like OP to make them show progress like we had to do with our 18 5 Star kids.

FWIW, this is like their version of our 2016, not 2017. Almost anything would be an improvement over last year... shy of going winless in conference again. It's more likely though that they will have a bounce back in year 2, if for no other reason than the schedule is favorable... I just think their bounce back will not be the same as UGA's... They'll win 9-10 in the regular season that year if things are going well... Next year, I see 6+ losses... they may not be bowl eligible depending on teams like Mizzou and Kentucky...

Good point. I just don’t ever want us losing recruiting battles for priory positions regarding GA kids to teams coached by Jeremy Pruitt or Gus Malzahn. I question the maturity level of one of them and the job security of the other one. If it were my son, I would only want him to play for about 2 programs. Obviously, the good guys and the one with all the hardware recently.

From what have seen the past few years, I don't see this ever happening again. The way Kirby has UGA rolling and his main message is stay home and bring a championship, I don't see many leaving and those that do will most likely be people with no serious ties to the state or not needed by UGA.

At least...thats what I am hoping lol
