We took a ton of corners in the last class
I'm not sure about that. William Poole, check...., then who?
Stokes? -- maybe in a year or two.
Bishop? -- not quick enough to play cb IMO.
Brini? -- not quick enough to play cb IMO.
Blount? -- not quick enough to play cb IMO
Speed? - great pickup, but not a cb at this level IMO.
They look like mostly safeties and nickel back type athletes, not corners. I'm not sure why we're struggling to recruit this position, but we don't look overloaded with cornerbacks to me.

Bishop, Speed, and Stokes are all quicker than Poole. Bishop will be a stud imo. Super athletic with size.
Blount is a WR.
Blount is a WR.

Blount, I agree WR. Just threw him in because he's listed as an athlete and played some DB.

Incorrect IMO. None of those are quicker than Poole except probably Stokes, but he's more raw than Poole. I don't see Bishop or Speed being effective at cb, Stokes is the possible exception.

I like Poole better as an instinctive guy in the slot. He's struggled some in coverage against high level receivers. I don't think he's as athletic as the other three.
Bishop flashed serious upside in the Army game for never having played corner before.

Well, no point in arguing about it too much. We'll find out eventually. But recruiting 6'3" and 6'4" guys for cornerback is a losing proposition IMO. You may eventually find a great one, but you'll get 50 duds in the meantime. It's extremely rare for guys that tall to have the quickness and mobility needed to play cornerback at a a high level.

I think the kinds of offenses in college have changed the type of athlete you need at corner. Being physical at the LOS has almost surpassed being a sticky cover man in importance. shite, Pruitt used Floyd at star against AU a few years back.
Conversely, you need safeties who can cover in the slot. DB is just becoming a more uniform position to deal with the spread, imo.

We're getting another visit from Micah Parsons soon, if we get Fields I think we have a really good shot for him.

Fields now #1 prospect per 247

Chris Smith is now a 4*. Up from 357 to 326. He's going to move up some more throughout the season

One of the main team tidbits that Rusty and Jake from 247 have reported from this summer so far is that Speed has been extremely impressive. Maybe the most impressive incoming non-EE freshman (alongside Andrew Thomas, Trey Blount, and Mark Webb).

Thought he'd jump up higher than that. Kid has been fricking shite up in 7-on-7's this spring/summer, I thought he'd be a top 250 athlete.

I'm confused....I thought the sky was falling and we now have a decent chance at landing 4 of the top 10 players and 6 of the top 25....WTF is happening and WTF do I believe....so I drink a lot and have a pistol ready or do I drink a lot and have fireworks ready???

Confirmed that Micah Parsons will be in Athens this weekend for the Kir-B-Que. He's close to Fields and Webb/Swift were the ones who convinced him to come down for his first visit in the spring. OSU is the current favorite but get Fields on board and all bets are off.

Florida State now has Mia Khalifa (Don't act like you don't know who) going after Fields on twitter
Hope for Fields' sake he doesn't DM that sloot, she put Chad Kelly's DMs all out in the open last fall.
