What's the boards thoughts on this quote from a P5 coach on the radio today

"If your commitment doesn't sign in Dec, he's not committed"

I think that's pretty much the only way to look at it.

I said back when they were looking at an early signing date, it won't really be optional.

100% this. I mean if you have the ability to sign and get it over, then why not? Because you are having second thoughts = not REALLY committed.

Good point

I am assuming our coaching staff has made that clear to our targets as well

Basically, the school your committed to is your leader but you aren’t really sure if you want to go there.

If it’s a kid graduating in May and they haven’t used all of their OV’s, I could understand if they don’t sign to take their OV’s. Would have to be a top tier kid that top tier schools are holding a spot for no matter what.

There will be plenty of kids who won't sign next week.

You guys know some of these front runners are not signing in December. Hell, even under the old system we had some wait until after signing day. The problem is many programs are going to save room for them. I just glad they get an option to wrap it up, but I still see several of the elite guys that aren’t early enrolles taking their time. Otherwise, Who would watch national signing day coverage or pay attention to it?

I've heard nothing to indicate that UGA is going to land him. Looks like it will be Miami?

Edit: I'm assuming Miami since he left y'all out of his top 3. I guess he could just be fricking with everyone.

Everything I've heard is that he has been all Bama for a long time. Don't think you have anything to worry about.

That he was probably trolling by leaving y'all out of his top 3.

Tim Watts predicted him to Alabama last night. He's usually spot on, but you never know.

Well... He's slated to sign in 6 days and enroll early. Also, decommitment from USC was not his choice most believe. This decommitment is almost 100% on Mullen...

I understand why, and you are right that he doesn't have much time to find another place to go as time is running short, but I'm not sure I would ever believe a commitment from him is solid.
I also realize he had some problems with his commitment from USCw, but if I were him, I think I would just make a silent commitment. He just strikes me as trouble, and I am glad we avoided him as a whole.

I will agree that it's a weird choice... Be interesting to see if it sticks but would be surprised to see him go back to Florida.

Me too. I understand his choice of Ole Miss. He could probably play in year 1, and they will be bowl eligible in his sophomore year. His recruitment just seems like a pinball machine....bouncing all over the place.

Merlins better hit a home run at QB with some last second magic, otherwise he's just digging the hole that McElwain buried himself in, deeper.

A few quotes from Zeus:
quote:

“I’m great right now," White said. "My rehab is going great, and it’s fun to me working that hard. It’s going good. Right now, it’s all physical therapy. Once I get to Georgia, I’ll start working on more and get it back right. Then, I’ll be ready for my freshman season. I should be back by camp.”

“It was like a minor injury," White said of their (coaches) reaction after the news broke. "They said not to worry about it, really.”

“Todd Gurley, Thomas Davis, Sony Michel, and Nick Chubb have all reached out to me about the situation," White said. "Todd’s a great guy, so we text sometimes. It’s not all the time, but you know, he’s a great person.”

Careful what you wish for. I personally hope he strikes out in embarrassing fashion.

Can always tell when a "Crystal Baller", that's a homer like Keith, knows his click bait time has run out on a recruit.

*Cue Vader voice-

"Luke.........

Composure and Physicality"

Almost definitely won’t start in year 1 at Ole Miss (legitimately may have had a better shot at UF if Mac was still coach), and I have a hard time believing that Ole Miss is going to be making a bowl game any time soon.
