It was originally a down year in state on talent... coupled with a ton of the highest rated guys looking elsewhere was seen as a bad combination. Fields rating skyrocketed then decommitting from Penn St helped a ton. Landing the commitment from Zeus also... Looking back at the posts from April timeframe when people were doom and gloom is really fun.

ETA: It still kind of is a down year in-state for talent, but we've mostly picked up the ones we wanted and are supplementing with guys OOS where needed as well. DL still light thus far, but Jordan Davis and regaining Wyatt will be great. If we can land Barmore and Cox (pitched as a hybrid DE/OLB it seems), will have been a great haul there, coupled with OLB/ILB (assuming at least one of Tindall/Reese) and the front 7 has been more than amply added to with the current crop of commits and high probability targets.
