Not bad to trust twitter when Fields is reaching out to top targets, which he's still doing a good bit of.

Cox to UGA seems even better with Pruitt leaving our main competition,

Will still be a fight for Cox. Pruitt likely tabs Kevin Sherrer as his DC. Sherrer would be Cox's position coach here. Cox will come down to Saban vs. Kirby.

All I'm saying is, we get the last swing.

Tray Scott. Cox is 250 pounds and will probably play 15-20 pounds heavier than that.

You'd think that but per sources he's being recruited as an OLB by both UGA and Bama.

Look at how we have used Ledbetter in our last few games to see what I think Cox's role will be. He will get reps early in his career as a backup OLB. As he grows into his frame he evolves into more of a hybrid role. Big enough to put a hand in the dirt and set the edge, but long an athletic enough to pressure the QB.

We want guys like that to be able to vary our front from 3 down to 4 down with minimal personnel changes.

Good comparison IMO...

Very much so. Want to be able to play man, with any other concept, with the same personnel.. with depth.
Once our lines grow and get, it's going to be nasty.

Future depth charts are almost too much to put together right now when Kirby has his full classes in. The margin of talent should be scary af to everyone.

The ship is sailing
Guys doing well in the NFL
Roquan is a Top 10 pick
Great draft class going out
Lots of early enrollees
Momentum on words that have been backed up!!!

Kids growing up in Georgia, playing in an Atlanta suburb, or a rural place where I live... With a caution light... With several former NFL players and coaches btw lol.... Will want to commit to the G and be proud of representing their State.

Eta- a strong A&M and better UTk help us actually. Tenner grabbing 3*'s and letting some slide to Clemson, Auburn, etc.. They will pick up. They will to recruit at a high level. Believe that. It's an advantage for us.
The gap in talent, roster management, etc. even for the East and the West besides Bama, is about to spread.

Trust that!!!!

Our ends don’t set the edge. Our Ends Control the inside gaps and set the inside portion of the alley with the OLB supposed to be the outside portion of the alley.

Correct. But take a look at our gameplan against auburn in the SECCG. We utilized a 4 down front MUCH more frequently. In those situations, we need players who can hybrid and function both as a DE and OLB. That's what I was saying. When we are 4 down, that flex position does have to set the edge from a 3 point stance.

I expect to see us do that more as we bring in more personel who can do the job.

It will be interesting to see how this team develops. As we get better in the secondary you’d think that would encourage teams to pass less which would impact our recruiting.

I could definitely see the spread dying down and more pro styles developing again.

I could also see motor vehicles become a thing of the past and horses and buggies become the "in" thing.

I like the pro style, preferably with a true dual threat QB. However, Fromm has been ace this year, so it works either way. A true dual threat who can beat you running or throwing is just so hard to defend.

When you can line up and play smash mouth against the big boys...it makes quiet the impression. I could definitely see it making a comeback.

Boom.
Wait until we get a corner that is truly special. Will open things up a lot. They threw two dts at Auburn and SDE with sometimes Thompson on the outside. They really did well on their stunts and blitzes in the gameplan utilizing a few things Bama did. When barn checked right, we still stopped them.

Said it a few weeks ago after Auburn. We knew we were gonna get blown off the line before we got there. That was tough to hear and harder to watch the next day.

By the end of practice the next Tuesday, word was we wouldn't lose again.

Shout out to Mike Cavan. I'm sure he's doing us some solid work for the future!!!
