Here are the real facts.
Recruits with CGS lasted as primary recruiter on 247.
2016 - David Marshall (committed on NSD one month after CGS joined the staff)
2017 -
Commits before July 2016 - Jaden Hunter (committed just 2 weeks after CGS joined the staff)
Committed before 2016 Season - none
Committed any time - LeCounte (committed before CGS got to UGA - Dec. 2015)
Nate McBride (committed in December 2016 after CGS coached an entire season)
Monty Rice (committed in January 2017 after CGS coached an entire season)
Ameer Speed (committed in February 2017 after CGS coached an entire season)
So he had 2 recruits commit in the time frame that Scott has been at UGA. One of those was a legacy who was always coming to UGA. Those are the real facts. Thanks for playing.

So he gets his top 2-3 targets but he's punished because of when they commit?? That's rich.
Scott is what, on plan E at this point?

The discussion started when someone said he deserved time to show he can coach. You said CGS was instantly pulling in recruits before he even coached a game. I merely pointed out that wasn't true and that most of his recruits committed after his first season. Do you even remember what you are arguing about? There is still plenty of time before NSD for Scott to do the same. He could still pull his top recruits in December, the same way CGS did.

I never mentioned anything about "instant commits before he coached a game"try reading my post again.
You made a dumb comment about players wanting to see a coach (one that has multiple years of FBS coaching experience already)actually coaching before they would commit to him.
I pointed out that CGS had success in his very first year of coaching. You looked up facts that confirmed what I said. You look dumb now.

Breezy said
I said he's new to UGA and players want to see he can coach.
You said
I said I didn't realize it was instant and said I must have been out of the loop.
You said all the facts show it.
I showed you the real facts say it wasn't exactly instant.
You are still arguing because I proved you wrong.
What exactly am I missing here? I feel like I'm talking to a three year old.

Instantly killing it on the recruiting trail is what I said, and it is what he did. You showing him getting his top targets and some of the most key recruits last cycle confirms that. he was also the secondary recruiter in multiple other recruits. Scott has already missed on a number of big targets, and if these recruits were interested in his coaching, they could look any of his previous stops. However, they aren't going to do that because they don't give a shite.
Sorry your built up straw man failed you, I'm done arguing you about it. Feel free to have the last word.

Defensive line will be fine. Several names that are not mentioned much have shown interest. Scott may surprise a few people with his first class.
It's not like Rocker was a great recruiter. We knew that when he was hired.

Rocker didn't enjoy recruiting but that doesn't mean he was a horrible recruiter. He landed guys like Trent Thompson, Tyler Clark, Julian Rochester, Jonathan Ledbetter, and Michail Carter. People only want to focus on the guys we missed (Adams and Brown).
Scott has struggled to get the attention of the top DL in the nation. He doesn't have much of a reputation, but maybe he'll surprise some people. I don't have any faith

Of all the Rocker stories, (some substantiated, some not), this is my favorite. "Go get me a leaf..."

Can we change the subject back to Justin Fields please?

If Thompson has a huge year and is a first round lock, the dominoes will fall into place. I say we give the man a chance to show his coaching ability before we say he "sucks" and is a flop of a hire.

Thompson and Clark were always coming. Sherrer closed Rochester and was primary on Clark. Bobo actually got us in with Thompson and he was all UGA at that point.

Name them. Weakest class in years.

pretty sure the entire month of August is dead period, so not really too much news unless a kid commits before his HS season starts...23 days boys!
