This is said with hyperbole, but its true...Striclin has singlehandedly killed this team with his playing and pitching players that havent done either all year.

This team will be 2 and done in the regional next week.

Only watching Softball the rest of the year. At least they have a valid excuse when they loose in the SUPER Regionals (#1 pitcher season ending injury). Baseball being ranked #8 is a joke.

I can’t tell if we’re being serious about this right now.

Im 100% serious.

Like i said on the last page, I dont believe in punting two games, and just being able to turn it on that next week, especially for a team that has never been to the postseason before. If it was an experienced team like Florida, Id think different.

I blame all this on Stricklin. I really believe we wont win our own regional now.

We lost to a really good Ole Miss team in extra innings.

It’s not like we got smashed by Tennessee or someone.

It’s never as bad as it seems but it’s hard to turn this into a positive. Team just looked disinterested these past two days and while I think the sec tournament is a colossal waste of time, it’s also great practice for a tournament setting and a chance to lad your resume. That this lineup only managed 4 runs all tournament is a scathing indictment of how underprepared we were coming in.

Stricklin has a job to do the rest of the way to refocus this team and get them ready. Falls entirely on him if we go 4 straight losses to end the season and as far as I’m concerned it will undo all the good will he has generated this season

I halfway agree with the top part. I would have personally liked to win 1 then bow out, but I don't think this is really that disastrous. And I don't think this particular SECT simulates the "tournament" setting we'll see from here on out. Both games started at 9:30am local time, both had rain delays. Neither had too terribly much on the line assuming we've already sewn up a national seed which it appears we did with teh arkansas series.

The next tourney we'll be in will be at Foley against 3 teams we should absolutely be better than (aTm and Ole Miss are solid ballclubs, especially ole miss). The tourney after that should be at Foley as well wiht everythign on the line.

I just don't think a couple losses in Hoover where we NEVER play well (believe we went 0-2 in 2008 as well) just doesn't bother me much.

Now, I do agree with the last part that if we go 0-2 in our home regional that would be inexcusable. But I don't think if that DOES happen that it'd have anything to do with what happened in hoover.

Dont be so sure about a national seed.

Florida, Arkansas, Stanford, and Oregon State are definitely in right now. Ole Miss should definitely have one with the win against us yesterday.

North Carolina will be done after today, and a win against Tech will do nothing for them, but both Clemson and Florida State have great shots to get a national seed if they make the ACC Championship game.

Then you have Texas Tech, who has a better RPI, road record, and more wins against the top 50 than we do.

Thats 8 teams right there.

RPI
1.Florida
2.Stanford
3.Arkansas
4.Oregon State
5.Texas Tech
6.Stetson
7.Georgia
8.North Carolina
9.Ole Miss
10.Clemson
11.Florida State

vs top 50
Florida 25-12
Arkansas 21-12
Florida State 18-11
Texas Tech 18-11
Ole Miss 17-12
Georgia 16-12
Stanford 11-5
Clemson 10-9
Oregon State 10-4
North Carolina 10-12
Stetson 7-3

Road Record
Stanford 13-6
Clemson 15-5
Texas Tech 14-10
Oregon State 13-5
Ole Miss 13-9
Stetson 12-8
Florida 12-9
North Carolina 12-10
Georgia 12-11
Florida State 9-9
Arkansas 6-13

We are towards the middle to the bottom on all three metrics that the committee uses. National Seed chances are going to go down to the wire this weekend.

They also look at SOS, of which we are 2nd in the country I believe.

We have a top 8 RPI, elite SOS, and won the series over 2 teams right up there with us (arkansas and clemson).

You can easily make a case we don't deserve it, but I think there's a stronger case that we do. It was pretty much all but assured going into the SECT that we were a top 8 team, I don't see why 2 games that weren't all that important to us would change that, espcially considering we took 2 of 3 in the regular season against both of those teams to boot.

If Ole Miss advances again, I don't see how they can take us over Ole Miss.

I don't think we won the series against Ole Miss, but I get what you're saying. Hard to believe we'd drop from a top 4 seed out of a National seed position.

Its not hard to believe when its always been very close between the teams that werent Florida/Stanford/Oregon State.

Arkansas has taken care of business. Ole Miss beat us again, and already had a comparable resume. Ive already made cases for the ACC teams and Texas Tech, and they are all still playing and can make their resume better. Georgia can't.

Stricklin really fricked up by not taking this tournament seriously. I understand not wanting to shake up your weekend rotation during the season, but this post-season, man.

This is probably my top 12 right now with the Arkansas win over Florida.

1.Florida
2.Stanford
3.Oregon State
4.Arkansas
5.Clemson
6.Ole Miss
7.Texas tech
8.Georgia
9.North Carolina
10.Florida State
11.Stetson
12.Auburn

A Texas Tech loss to West Virginia tonight could push them down, but I feel good about the top 6 at the moment.

Florida State has North Carolina State today to go to the semifinals. A win there and a possible win against Clemson/Louisville would boost them even further.

Auburn can jump up if they win it all. Not sure it will be enough to be a top 8 seed since they were 15-15 in conference, but they would have the wins.

Im not even going to speculate on Stetson. They play no one besides Jacksonville, and two wins against them shouldnt push them to a national seed, but Im not the committee.

Not sure if I should start a softball thread or not, but we're up 4-2 in the top of the 6th. 2 outs.

We were up 4-0, and Tennessee has gotten 2 runs this inning. Going to the bullpen now.

Softball wins Game 1 4-3. At least we get to see one team this Summer be competitive in a postseason.

UNC blew out Tech today, FSU is beating NC State by 3 in the 7th, and Texas Tech just started with WVU.

Really worried about how this team is going to perform under post-season pressure.

RPI has now dropped to 9th.

Missouri's RPI has dropped to 49th, so there is a real good chance that we lose 3 more top 50 wins.

Resume's can only go down if you arent playing.
