A road win against the #1 team was the key. While 1 home win against a Top 10 Arkansas squad would help, a series win all but seals us a National Seed and a first round bye for the SEC tournament

All things considered, the Florida series went pretty much as scripted: both teams earned a convincing win and the deciding game came down to a Walk-Off. Was very encouraged by how capable UGA's lineup looked at the plate against a legitimately great pitching corps for Florida. Irked that we had 10+ hits and only drove in 4 runs today but it was more than enough to get the win.
Hopefully, we now know what to expect heading into next weekend with Arkansas in terms of competition level which should make for a great precursor to postseason play. Curry and Sasser are slumping a bit as is Meadows and we need Shepherd to find his groove these next few weeks. All in all, the only thing separating this team from being 2008 level is having that one dominant ace and lights out closer. We have proven to have a good starting staff and a good bullpen but we are missing that one guy that makes the opposing dugout sit down in resignation (will never forget watching Fields come out to warm-up against NC State and those guys looking like they were heading for the gallows).

I honestly think we are close to a lock for a national seed as long as we dont crap the bed next weekend and go two and Q in Hoover. Honestly, we need to cancel the game against Presbyterian. Win or lose, its going to hurt our RPI.
Still need Tech(47) and South Carolina(40) to keep winning to stay in the rpi top 50.
RPI||Team||vs Top 50||SOS||Road
1.Florida 24-9, 1, 12-6
2.Stanford 8-5, 23, 13-5
3.North Carolina 13-12, 2, 12-9
4.Georgia 17-9, 3, 12-11
5.Akansas 19-10, 6, 5-11
6.Oregon State 7-3, 59, 11-4-1
8.Ole Miss 16-11, 27, 10-8
9.Texas Tech 11-10, 11, 11-10
10.Florida State 17-12, 10, 9-9
11.Clemson 13-9, 29, 11-5
Projections
1.Florida vs Alabama State, South Florida vs Florida Atlantic
16.East Carolina vs Campbell, Duke vs St John's
8.Texas Tech vs Sam Houston State, Texas A&M vs Dallas Baptist
9.Ole Miss vs Oral Roberts, Oklahoma State vs Louisiana Lafayette
4.Arkansas vs Saint Louis, UCLA vs Missouri State
13.North Carolina State vs Greensboro, South Carolina vs Louisiana Tech
5.North Carolina vs Coppin State, Tennessee Tech vs Vanderbilt
12.UCONN vs Bryant, Texas vs Northeastern
2.Stanford vs Grand Canyon, Oklahoma vs Cal State Fullerton
15.Stetson vs Army, Auburn vs Houston
7.Georgia vs Yale, Southern Miss vs Michigan
10.Florida State vs Marist, Jacksonville vs Central Florida
3.Oregon State vs Pepperdine, Ohio State vs Nevada
14.Minnesota vs Kent State, Louisville vs Arizona
6.Clemson vs Hartford, Coastal Carolina vs LSU
11.Kentucky vs Wright State, Indiana vs Baylor

As luck would have it, Athens is looking at a 90% chance of thunderstorms on Tuesday
Problem is there's currently a 90% chance on Thursday and an 80% chance on Friday with scattered thunderstorms for Saturday. I guess they could push it to a double header Saturday and the final game pushed to Sunday if they had to?

The tournament starts next Tuesday, so I doubt they would want to play on Sunday. We havent had a rain out this year, so if we only get two games in next weekend, it should be alright.

Forecast is showing 80-90% Thunderstorms for Tuesday through Sunday.

If Arkansas series gets cancelled due to weather, South Carolina would have to sweep A&M in college station to leap us for a first round bye. However, not sure what that would do for our national seed hopes. I imagine we’d have to win a game or 2 in the tourney at that point to do anything more than host a regional

Will probably never happen, but we should treat game one as a elimination game, and pitch whoever we need to get the win since it could be the only game of the weekend.

All that matters next year is if we can Get Cole Wilcox and Cabera Weaver to come to Athens.
Wilcox is a top 50ish guy in the daft, but I have read that it will cost a lot to get him to not go to Georgia, so there is hope.
Cabrera is probaly a top 10 round guy(maybe earlier). Should be easier to keep him, but you never know. All it takes is one team to throw money at him.

We for sure lose McGovern and Adkins.
Think Curry and Kevin Smith go as juniors
Still a good core returning but you do lose your two best bats and two starting pitchers
