Isn't he committed to us? Not sure what he has to decide really.

That is one thing that irritates me. IMO if you are open to other schools, then your are not committed anymore. I mean, if you are not 100% a Dawg, then decommit and re-access. Don't stay "committed" then jump ship on signing day. I never understood why these kids do that...and we have been both the receiver and giver of such things in the past, but I never understood it. If he truly is torn then he should have decommited. Making a "decision" when you are committed to a team just sounds dumb.

I guess to drum up drama.

If you read the USC and UF boards, you would think we are on the outside looking in just because of CB activity on 247 over the past few days.

What no one over there seems to understand is that those crystal balls could essentially be a hedge - Wyatt is committed to UGA, so writers have nothing to lose but something to gain by picking him to go ANYWHERE else. You can't CB a player to the school he is already to committed to.

I am guessing those writers missed the boat before he committed to us, and are now just locking in a new pick in the off-chance that he flips.

FWIW, I think it is 50/50 between us and USC.

I keep reading these articles about all the underrated guys Kirby is after. It's kinda exciting to see Kirbs look past stars. Would be nice to have some Mizzou type production from these dudes and not have to fight for the top rated guys.

Amen! Don't wander over to read the Dawgnation forum..this subject is lost on them. Also, they have people who continuously state they are worried about Tray Bishop and we should "save" the open scholarships for next year. I never thought I'd be so ashamed to be a Georgia fan until I perused the nutjobs that post there. I swear half of them are other fanbases screwing with the few who are genuine Dawgs.

DawgNation has a forum? I guess you really do learn something new every day.

...2018 is a big down year in the state of Georgia as far as talent is concerned. If anything, we should save 2018 scholarships for 2019, which looks to be a bumper year.

So it looks like we land Bryant, Speed, and possibly Brini tomorrow? Wyatt looks to be 50-50 and i really hope we can hold on to this young man, I have zero hope in landing Solomon but i have a feeling Smart has something up his sleeve. What about Murchison, is he a take? To be honest I really like Stokes and it sucks he will end up at Ole Miss, 2-3 yrs down the road we might be kicking ourselves over that one. Am i missing anybody we have a legit shot for tomorrow?

This. Our main focus in 18 should be finding some out of state playmakers. DBs, running backs, etc.

19 will have 2017 potential for another full restock.

I know Clemson thinks they have Zamir White on lockdown but he did grow up a dawg fan, I think we have a very legit shot with this young man. Cam Akers could not hold his jock.

White skipped Clemson's Junior Day to visit Athens. I think Clemson holds a small lead but it's a long, long way from over.

247 update on Beal cited a source that said it's never really been in doubt, but he will 100% be signing with UGA tomorrow. So we can put that one to rest.

Actually, I think he was a person of interest in a murder while he was at Florida, however, that is another subject.

I know he stated he and Trevor would play together but these so called package deals rarely go down. I do believe it's a 2 horse race, cock fans that i converse with truly believe they have a legit shot with White. Most of those cats live in la la land anyway.

What I meant was that's not the way it works. You can sign 25 scholarship players each year, with the previous years' EE's backcounting and adding to that number. You can't just not sign players and then add those signings to next years' class. Not signing a full class is a bad way to go about running a successful football program. Look at the penalties that were levied against cheating teams who lost the ability to sign full classes (Southern Cal comes to mind). It killed them for years. Richt had it happen at least 1x that I remember and hurt our depth for a few years until we got caught back up.

Anyways, I think we can find valuable pieces in the 2018 class and hopefully get some of them to EE so we can beef up the #'s for the 2019 class that looks to be a really good one with most of the kids from the state loving the Dawgs.

Wow you aren't kidding..delusional as hell. I want Zamir to don the Red & Black reallllly badly. I think it currently sits 60/40 Clemson/UGA right now but we are apparently making some headway. We had a big lead before the coaching change and we are trying to make that ground up.

And that will end in April. The NCAA will likely adopt a hard 25 rule. No more backcounting.

That wasn't necessarily true. We didn't sign a full class last year because we didn't want to reach in a transition class. Signed a full class of mostly filler in 2013 and it burned us for years. If we'd only signed 25 or so, the roster could have turned over quicker.

Backcounting is about to go away though, so UGA will just need to sign 25 every year.
